Who will win the Premiership?

Well this is going to be tough, even our makeshift wingers are injured...

Walcott, Podolski, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wilshere and Gnabry are all injured and may not be back this whole week for Liverpool, Dortmund and Man Utd.

We will have Rosicky, Monreal and Miyaichi who can play there hopefully but Rosicky is better as an AM, Miyaichi is poor and Monreal is an LB...

Worst physios and doctors in the league:facepalm.

think this month will see a bit of a shake up in the league. chelsea and city really should be the run away favourites, but both have been inconsistent. this where arsenal's (non-existant) squad depth will be tested by injuries and a champions league campaign that they need to really keep an eye on.

there have been signs man u might be improving under moyes now, a solid month of form and they should put themselves in the frame again (though kagawa benched again suggests this is nowhere near a sure thing). come the christmas fixtures any one of about 6 teams should fancy themselves for the league. gobsmackingly I almost feel like liverpool are in the strongest position right now.

We've had horrible injuries all season and look where we are on the table.

We certainly do have squad depth everywhere except up front.

Pretty hilarious that beating Spurs at home tomorrow would take us second...

I don't think we have played that well either. Sure we've been very good at times. but at this stage last season we had played comfortably better, just been unlucky in games.

I guess the difference is literally lukaku over jelavic and a better rub of the green.

That was a joke, seems like people in the media can't realise jokes these days.:rolleyes

Pardew himself has celebrated with the crowd once too if my memory serves me right.

Their defence still looks shaky without Coloccini (and to some extent, Taylor) but they've got a good side going forward that should ensure their safety. They'll need a good centre back though if they want to get into the top half, Yanga-Mbiwa seems clueless with or without a decent partner these days.

aye. time makes fools of us all.

Yep, and what about Chelsea and their flaws? Overlooked?

They are so poor in attack it's worrying. They dominated possession at St. James' Park and mustered something like two shots on goal! Hazard as well proving to be quite an underwhelming signing in the short term, he can grow, but this season he has been really poor. Mata still isn't playing. They have huge problems and will struggle this season, I'm certain. With four strikers as well including Lukaku I'm not sure they'll bring anyone in come January and the same goes for the AM positions even if they let go of Mata. Possibility of El Shaarawy maybe.

Man City's flaws are less obvious, but they certainly have them. In defence they have looked really poor and disorganised when Kompany has been absent, and even when he is there they aren't on the same level as they were in 11/12 and Kompany himself isn't close the player he was then. Other than that, with their options they are forced to play one of Nasri or Navas it seems and both are awful other than a few flash in the pan performances. The Hart problem is obviously an issue too.

We have been without any wingers for most of the season, and our best player from last season has also been out in Cazorla. Our squad has been stretched and a lot of players who weren't expected to play much at all have been brilliant, like Flamini and Gnabry. Yet we've still had some terrific performances and were very unlucky to leave with nothing against one of the best teams in Europe, Dortmund. Yeah we have depth issues at CF with Bendtner our second choice until January, but elsewhere, absolutely not. The main thing I'm worried about is the lack of rest some players are getting and Ozil in particular is looking jaded at times. But now that we are out of the COC, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

We're five points clear. It's far too early to be pulling us out of the title race already, especially looking at how poor Chelsea are looking and how Man City still have a lot of questions to answer. The media loves it though. First we hadn't been tested by any quality opposition and needed a test. We beat Liverpool convincingly and almost picked up the points against Dortmund. Now we still need a test... Eh!?!?

I can't see Spurs doing much at Goodison, even a draw would be a good result IMO.

Calling it now. Everton to win and go second.

I'm guessing you haven't seen Nasri go except for the games against Bayern at home and Chelsea away? Because he's been superb for us this season...

Yeah, he's been quite good so far this season, don't understand what thedon's on about. Added to that, Mata did play against the Geordies...

A draw at Goodison Park was going to be the most likely result.

Chelsea have Mourinho, which makes them good contenders naturally, that's why people still believe in them. Agree with the media part though, Rafa would've been butchered had he stayed at Chelsea with similar results going into this season.

Watching the Gunners/Pool game i think Rogers made a tactical error in changing his 3-4-1-2 formation immediately in the second half. I thought Suarez/Sturridge was beginning to test the gunners back line in latter period of the 1st half.

Sure they were missing Johnson @ RWB, but i was surprised he picked young flanagan in that role instead of Martin Kelly.

But to me once they went to a back 4, Arsenal was far more comfortable playing vs that set-up.

Liverpool never really looked to be in the game. The difference in quality showed, and that is the precise reason why despite only 2 points separating the two teams before the game, Arsenal were title contenders, and Liverpool were challenging for a champions league spot.

We've always lacked width, and with 3-4-1-2, any team using its wingers wisely can disassemble the defence because invariably there's a person less defending, especially on counter attacks.
If we play 3 at the back, we need both Johnson and Enrique. Young Flanagan was not very impressive going forward, nor was he too composed defending.

Gerrard had an off day, and it showed.

Id say Cissokho (spell check) has be handling himself quite competently @ LBW in Enrique's absence. That's why i was surprised in Johnson's absence he played that youngster @ RWB instead of Kelly.

Thus when Coutinho came on in the second half i thought it was a strange choice to take of Cissokho & switching the formation instead of a mid-fielder (Henderson or Lucas) & placing the brazilian in his usal "hole" position behind the SAS.

This is the weirdest season I've ever seen! Utd make the worst start since the Eighties, but neither of the two main rivals have capitalised, and we're still only three points behind Chelsea. Arsenal are looking very good right now, but that could change if they pick up a few injuries. I'm sure Liverpool will fall away.

As to Utd themselves, it's good to be building an unbeaten run at last but that will be put to the test when Arsenal come calling. Against Fulham, we showed some of our old attacking flair, but the defence is still a major concern for me.
