In the three years since its inception, the European Cricket Council's Europa Cup has established itself as the premier List A competition in Europe, with far more of a fan following than the ECB's Royal London Cup. Originally founded as a means to offer opportunities for Associate and Affiliate players to develop, it has become prestigious enough that players from all over the world have been discovering European heritage in the hope of improving their chances of playing in the competition. This season sees a change of sponsors for the first time: Credit Suisse have relinquished their partnership, to be replaced by Audi, the German automotive company.
