Features you want to see in next iteration of Big Ant Cricket

Would like see a footwork modifier: this could be assigned to the Left trigger.

Holding left trigger down allows the player to walk around and out of the crease. Holding it down allows you to walk even when the ball is coming down the pitch, this would allow u to premeditate. e.g. fine leg is up in the circle u know if u get bat on ball it will go for 4 and the bowler is bowling full. This would allow you to walk across simultaneously as the ball coming down and flick it over fine leg. Good thing is your able to play shots on the move rather then always having to play from a stationary position.

When u let go of left trigger the player is stationary in that position and you are able to pivot, e.g press forward, back and across etc which is currently in the game. E.g. hold down LT to walk across stumps, let go . step back and work onto leg side.

double pumping left trigger enables the batsmen to charge the bowler.

This way you can create your own shots without having to rely on dilscoop, reverse sweep etc to play unorthodox shots and all footwork is assigned to one button rather then having to use 2 buttons to charge

I like the thing you mentioned about walking front while or before the ball arrived to the batsman but i think it should be right stick for the walking because the left stick is for the footwork front/back right/left. So the left stick should remain the same for controlling the footwork And with the right stick we should be allowed to come forward(walking not running) before the bowler throws the ball and the moment the ball is release from the hand of the bowler the right stick should be ready to play as a bat(like presently in DBC14). At the release moment of the ball right stick should not alow the batsman to walk because now right stick is ready for the shot. This will give the feel to the game.

One more thing on BATTING @BigAntStudios is that FREE THE BATSMAN for example if the batsman try to play the shot on leg side with flat bat(No matter what the line and length of the bowl is.. the batsman should have the choice(to play it on the legside with flat bat or any other type). Because now sometimes it happens that if we want to play for example on the leg side with flat bat the batsman play the shot to LEG SIDE BUT with straight bat with this straight bat shot batsman avoid the miss and get connect the bat with the bowl, But if at that time batsman played with flat bat might the batsman miss the ball which gives feel to the game.

And Carrier mode- team carrier is better than single player career because its nice to play whole match than just playing one player and simulating whole match no point.

once again thanks for brilliant game and hoping the next one will be big hit

And answers oh so few.....:p
I find it really helpful when a discussion goes on here about an aspect of the game we've had internal discussion of, and seeing how the views match up with what is being implemented and what gaps we still have a chance to fill.

Maybe less interesting from your perspective but valuable from mine.

I was thinking about this when I was playing Matt online the other day... he was pretty consistently bowling outside of off and I really wanted an option to quickly step outside the off stump and hit across the line to legside... I wonder if this would be possible? Somehow along with shot-modifiers there's a footwork modifier that allows you to quickly step back and outside leg or back and across to off-stump to hit the ball?

...that's one thing, especially playing online, I've found a little frustrating is movement of the batsman either down the wicket, but across the wicket too... charging works really well, maybe something like that for stepping outside leg or across to off stump?

Enhanced tutorial mode and a slider setting for picking up length of deliveries a bit earlier confirmed ;)

Please no not more tutorials they are so condescending.

Get ready and press triangle… hey that was great! And you think to yourself was it really that great I pressed a button when you told me too.
It’s like watching one of those bad health and safety movies they make you watch at work. Watch what Tom does when there is a fire, soul destroying nightmare.

They remove the fun.

Yup, I think a Tutorial or Practice match concept is a great idea and having levels of achievable awards would really help people access some of the more nitty-gritty aspects of cricket and the game itself - however a better execution of a tutorial function would be a "Scenario" mode whereby you learn something about the game itself, cricket as a sport and how to say "adjust the field" to restrict runs; example being: "Super Over" 'Stop the batsman from scoring 12 runs off the over, set a field to defend your total'

That kinda thing will give people who might know know about T20's super over function, field restrictions, bowling mechanics or how to change the field in the game confidence when playing the longer formats or career mode.

I had a very torrid time with batting in DBC 14. I could never be quick enough to judge whether to be on front foot/Back foot. That resulted in premeditation of footwork. This aspect greatly reduced the pleasure of playing as a batsman. I don't know if this is being looked into but I would love to be able to actually judge the length of the ball to decide on my stride rather than premeditating every shot. I absolutely don't want a pitch marker. That would be a regression but I am sure Bigant can work out a solution for a lot of other players like me out there.

I'd like the option where the everything goes into slow motion just after the ball is delivered to you, with a coloured zone (parallel to the pitch) appearing to briefly show you the general line and length of the delivery, but, importantly, no pitch marker. You get 2 seconds to make your decision with the controller about what you want to do with the ball; play at it with your chosen footwork and shot direction, or leave it go through to the keeper.

It would help those in need of a bit of time. As for all the professionals, they can keep this option switched off in the offline settings.

If done properly, I could play the game until a white truck arrives to send me off to the funny farm.

i am all for discussion especially if it leads to improvements....it was somewhat tongue in cheek as it were...

The point is when you play cricket in reality, you can see the ball coming from bowler's hands and this gives the batsman (well most of them) time to judge the length and pace. A game hampered by constraints can't give visual cues required to effectively determine the sort of foot work required. May be with enhancement of graphic capacity, this situation can be improved but right now I think a lot of us needs a bit of help to bat properly.

I'm all for making it easier for people without cat-like reflexes but this is such a bad idea it's hard to know where to start.

The pitch marker at least had us watching the pitch, and DBC improves that by getting us watching the ball - and you want us watching "parallel" to the pitch in some sort of dream time? No no no.

Better would be a flash during the delivery action (pre release) on or over the ball indicating length by colour. This would address footwork premeditation but keep things realistic and keep us watching the ball.

I guess we are all different as to what we need to judge ball line and length. I personally have no visual clues on at all, not because I am great at batting but because that for me is the least distracting way to get into line of the ball in time....

In DBC this is possible. Try playing without the colour indicators and just watch the bowler and the ball....with me by the time my brain has registered oh green is front foot I am too late where as if I take the ball on merit I find I can react in time.... And make mistakes....like cricket...

Thank you very much for the tip sir. I have read every post of all the threads regarding DBC 14 and its successor. I thought if I can't master batting in this game I couldn't do it in its next one as well even after spending hours. But i tried your tip and bang!! it was so real and i had all the time in the world to play my shots like in real life thank you so much sir.. I thought without the help of the batting assistors I won't be able to play but it is the exact opposite. Again thank you so much sir..

I think a lot of us have hammered for this option since DBC14 release for almost a year or two now, that i would be surprised if its not in the sequel atleast as an option, and would be a massive oversight :p
