FOOTBALL Fifa 12 - console and PC!

Love it. I wish that happened to me everytime game engine screwed me over like that.

God I hate Welliton in FIFA though, everyone with a Brazilian team in UT has him and he ruins the game with his ridiculous pace.

It's on my manager mode and I'm looking to sell him. I completely misread his stats. I try to only sign players with at least ball control, dribbling and short pass in the 80's and he had dribbling low 70's when I signed him. Thought it was 90 something.

Basically, yeah, I don't like him. He's the epitome of computer game effective but rarely produces those moments of magic. Except for that goal funnily enough, which clearly needed his average first touch to pull off.

TBH,game is not as expected:noway
lots of dissopointing things

Well got FIFA and for the first time ever, I'm having trouble defending. And then I get frustrated because it passes the wrong way and I give the ball away after a good build up... Any tips? At least it's a challenge unlike the previous FIFA games where I win 4-0 or better on legendary difficulty.

anyone know which key is for running fast?:rolleyes

It works more like real football now. You have to jockey the attacker and watch him carefully for the chance to take the ball off him. Also, watch the runners, not the ball - the AI make clever runs now - if you see an AI making a good run, make sure you use your man to follow him because if you go for the ball carrier, there's every chance he'll nip it past you and pass it to his mate who made the run. :) I recommend swapping the 'contain' and 'team mate contain' buttons around as well - 'team mate contain' is very useful especially when you've got a tricky player cornered near the touchline. Or indeed the corner flag. :D

Yep. Ditch the keyboard and use the trigger on a gamepad. I'm not surprised you're disappointed by the game if you're using the keyboard. It's not designed for the keyboard - it's designed for a 360 degree analogue gamepad. Keyboards were designed (in a gaming sense) for eight way movement.

^oh will give it a try

As Steve said with defending, you've got to try and unteach some bad habits. Don't just dive in with stand tackle. In fact, I rarely use it, I just use jockey and try and close the gap before taking the ball by just positioning.

As you get better, you can start making the tackles yourself. Think about a defender on the edge of the area. Does he commit himself, or just try and stay a good distance between him, the striker and the goal. With a good position you'll take the ball off him if he tries to beat you, or block the shot if he attempts to shoot. Bad positioning and they can skin you or get their shot off.

As you said, actually made a nice change to pick up a football game and not just be winning 5-0 on the hardest setting straight away :)

Indeed. I love the defending - you've actually got to engage your football brain now! I hope EA don't cave in to all the children mewling about it being too hard over in EA forum land!

My exploits with MK Dons (taking them from League One to midtable comfort of the Championship) have earned me the challenge of keeping Norwich in the Premiership. Should be fun!! :D

This game is alot different and tougher on PC. Playing with the keyboard on Professional difficulty and I sweat alot in every game to come up with a positive result (Spurs - Manager mode - trying to win the title :D)

The game is intense and the manager mode is more interesting, transfers are however are great and horrible at the same time. The average clubs swapping players is fine, but every year you see big teams sell a few of their ace players and get a few others. Man City is a piss of, they are literally buying the competition (realistic though) they got Ronaldo too. United tho have lost out Rooney, Nani, Hernandez, Berbatov, Anderson etc.

Who else is playing manager mode?

Anyone play Ultimate Team here, I'm not amazing at FIFA, but my South Korean team is very good. My overall record is 112-14-67, but I think since starting with this team, its about 35-2-3 (lost one due to disconnection)

Anyway, my strikers, Park Chu-Young and a silver rated K-League striker called Seol ki Hyeon have great goal/game ratios, I'll upload pics tomorrow.

Ultimate Team? I must be a n00b.

Do you need online to play this mode or somethin?
