Football Transfers Thread

Why will it be an embarrassment for Madrid. Besides we were beaten more by luck than merit by Roma. Anyone who saw both legs would know that.

Man to man we were always better than Roma or United, but now Schuster has got us working as a brilliant unit. Just watch how Sneijder and Robben(if he stays injury free) play next season. Infact Ronaldo's arrival might just disrupt the balance in the side just like Beckham did when he came.

If at all it will be a embarrassment for United if he does make the move. But I would be upset if it was for the price being quoted.
:p Nothing to do with luck.

And as for being better than United, well, you're just showing yourself up. Champions of Europe.

The only players I'd have from your squad to replace ours are Casillas, Ramos (for RB), perhaps Sneijder although I don't know where he'd come into our team.

I think Chelsea need some english players now.

Chelsea don't buy English players, haven't you noticed? Ashley Cole was the exception before anyone starts!

I'd much rather have our squad than Real's any day, Vaughan!! You don't see us sniffing around any of your lot, do you?

Maybe thats because you cant afford anyone you'd want. Anyways, I think this season will show why I am so confident Madrid can win the Champions League, and I think along with United and Chelsea, Bayern are going to pose a threat.

Now since this is the transfers' thread I'd like to mention that Real have decided to opt against buying Negredo back.

Also Villarreal seem to have got Ibagaza. He was mesmeric last season for Mallorca, but he is 31.

And the latest news also is that a bid €40m from Barca for David Villa has been rejected. I'd be very upset if he joined those filthy Catalans.

yh sidwell might be but it's still not confirmed...and robinho looks more and more like joining chelsea

Yeah, where will SWP get the opportunities he gets at Chelsea...

Newcastle have signed Jonas Gutierrez from Real Mallorca. Apparently he's famous for wearing a mask when he celebrates a goal, ala Sava at Fulham a few years ago. Hopefully this will spark an upsurge in the activity, has been quite quiet so far.

West Brom are apparantely going to sign highly-rated Holland under-21 international Gianni Zuiverloon, a defender from Heerenveen for £3.2 million. Should be a good move for us!!:)

Sounds like Man Utd are still after Berbatov:

'Let's have a drum roll, fanfare and an explosion of confetti for that rarest of things - a Manchester United transfer rumour.

While all the talk has been of Alex Ferguson signing Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov, reports today suggest that he is lining up River Plate striker Falcao if that long, protracted affair does not come to fruition.

However, Fergie would have to fight off interest from Real Madrid and Juventus for the right to dish out ?15 million on the Colombian striker, who has been scoring at a rate of almost two goals every three games for the Argentinian side.'

Barcelona have landed Alves for 23.5 million pounds. Earlier they spent 16.5 million pounds on Caceres. Good signings I have to admit, as the Ramos-Pepe combination clearly outplayed the Zambrotta-Milito one last season.

Oh and Sevilla finally sell Alves.

Alves to Barca, another really good player in for them, they have done some good work so far.

Edit-- beat me to it :p

I don't want united to sign Falcao, I hope we sign a striker though, I would still like a midfielder to come in as well.
