Football Transfers Thread

They've already got a decent base to build from. I'd have kept Corluka though. If Corluka was still there, this would have been the team:

Joe Hart

Vedran Corluka
Michael Ball
Richard Dunne
Micah Richards

Elano
Michael Johnson
Shaun Wright Phillips
Martin Petrov

Robinho
Jo/Benjani

Seems a decent enough team already, need another class striker, a better left winger, a class centre midfielder, right back and left back, and a few back-up signings for the likes of Dunne.

The defence is week, and now Corluka is gone as well. Compare that to that of the big four and you'll see why they still need to improve a lot.

If Robinho gets his heart to play for City, then he'll do better than Ronaldo. But thats a big if.

Richard Dunne and Micah Richards are quality centre backs. The wing backs are poor though. January Transfer Window is going to be mad, it's been a while since Chelsea have been outbid for a player. I wouldn't be surprised if Roman sold up and ran away with his tail between his legs if City continue to outbid them. Chelsea aren't a big club, and have just been made bigger thanks to the money, and the Robinho saga proves that money is the main reason for most of the players moving to Chelsea.

I really can't believe City managed to get him, that is one big signing for them.

But as my name says on MSN: Forget Robinho & Berbatov, Droylsden & Rangers is the way forward! :)

Stop saying that. Real were never going to sell Robinho to Chelsea, so he had no choice. Chelsea have stopped over-paying for a few seasons now.

wow just woke up Robinho to City imo just wants the money but Berbatov joined a nice attack now to build on with Ronaldo coming back from injury

Hart, Richards and Dunne are a quality 3/5ths of a defence.

Vincent Kompany will probably slip into centre back.

Yeh good point, I forgot about Kompany, Richards could then move to Right Back, with Dunne and Kompany in the middle. Doesn't look too bad to me. Richard Dunne's a brilliant centre back, easily one of the most under-rated centre backs in the Premier League, alongside Martin Laursen anyway.

I don't think Man City outbid Chelsea at all people. I just think they pulled out. If they wanted him desperately they would have gone head to head with City for his signature up until the last hour. Madrid said they wouldn't sell to Chelsea so they just took the hint.

Everton sign that Mario Falatio fella or whatever his name is from Standard Liege. Our record signing and i'm very pleased; He was awesome against Liverpool. Christ Moyes, you slipped that one under the radar didn't you?

I think Chelsea could have signed Robinho if they'd stayed in there, even after Madrid made that statement, they said they were going after him. The funniest thing today would be seeing Peter Kenyon's face.

City won't make top 4 at all, and something will go wrong for them, they might get 6th or 7th. Dunne, Kompany, Hart are good, but there's another step up to even Liverpool's level, then another to ours. One signing isn't enough, and you can quote me on this: Robinho will be a flop at City.

City fans on SSN, "we'll finish above Arsenal and Liverpool", "it'll be like watching Brazil" and "we'll take the world by storm".:D:D::D:D It's hilarious watching this giddy-o-meter just rise and rise, so predictable, happens every time something half decent happens to them.

Like I said, Hughes needs to get Robinho to play with his heart. Something that Luxemburgo, Capello (ass), and Schuster failed to do. Robinho never felt at home at Madrid and constantly kept making controversial statements. I wanted him to leave for a while, but like everyone else was waiting for a replacement to be signed before. Would have loved to have Capel or Cazorla, but even that did not happen.

City are going for Torres, Ronaldo and Fabregas. and Villa. and 8 other players.

United just laughed. Class.

They are so pathetic, city will be out of football within 2 years. 135 million for Ronny. lolz :D

Players tolerate living in Manchester because they're playing for United. No amount of money will attract players to playing for City. Apart from Ribena of course

So will Platini impose a million sanctions on them or will every club in football just agree to have nothing to do with them. :D City are going to be dead soon. :D
