AFTER BUYING MAN CITY

The new owners are worth $1 Trillion, and their investments and companies turned over more than ?5 billion profit last year. Anyone who isn't going to take City seriously is going to be for a shock given another transfer window or two.
They can have all the money in the world but it doesn't change the fact they're Manchester City.

Mourinho's money changed the fact that Chelsea were a club bordering on collapse because of Ken Bates' fantastic ability to screw anything he's ever been in charge of. Look at them now, Champions League Final last year, seeded in the top group. I wouldn't be suprised if they were in the same situation given 3/4 seasons.

Yeh but they're Manchester City. No doubt they will get a lot better but if they think they are getting Torres and Ronaldo they are mental. If they do have so much money that they can get anyone then it will get to a point where something will be done about it anyway.

I'm with Ani, I don't think it's the Man City fans that are dillusional, I think everyone else is pretty scared of Man City at the moment, and are just hoping that Robinho flops and that the investors run away. It's not going to happen, they're worth far, far more money than Abramovich. Everytime oil prices rise £1, Abou Diaby (:p) makes £5billion, far more than Roman makes. City are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the transfer windows, and I expect them to make some massive transfers, and really be challenging the top 3 Next Season.

They won't get Torres and Ronaldo, but whats to stop them getting the rest of the world's talent which aren't at the worlds top tier clubs. They can easily outbid the rest of the clubs, they can offer all the money the players want, and obviously the reputation of the club will be on the rise.

That's the only reason Chelsea bought loads of players, they were offering more money than anyone else. None of their players, Cech, Drogba, Carvalho, Cole, Shevhenko, Ballack, Malouda, etc would have considered joining Chelsea if it wasn't for Roman's millions. Now Chelsea and the rest of the premier league are playing 2nd fiddle in terms of money to Manchester City. Certainly going to be an interesting January Transfer Window. I'm looking forward to seeing the new talent we get in the Premier League.

That's the whole point though, City have soooooo much more money than everyone else that if they are really saying they will be buying everyone that moves then something will be done about it. Believe me, I'm not scared of city. They could buy our entire first team squad but I still wouldn't be scared. It's city.

Real Madrid could buy anyone they want as well and have been doing so for years but they're still not the best in the world. You can only put out 11 and who's to say just because Villa, De Rossi, Silva, etc are on the same team doesn't mean they'll gel and become better than everyone else.

Yes, I'm wary of City but Chelsea's decline over the last 2 seasons has shown that all the money in the world doesn't necessarily mean success.

Chelsea were 4th before Abramovich took over, they already had Terry, Lampard and others.

This is a totally different kettle of fish, City aren't that great, and nothing changes the fact they're city, there will be a big mess up somewhere.

I was thinking that too. How many of City's current crop will they win the title with?

Although, if they do win it, it'll be a massive achievement.

I'm not a Chelski fan but two thoughts spring to mind.
1. That is surely due to Peter Kenyon trying to put the club onto a sustainable financial footing and the transfer budget has been much more limited over the past 2 seasons.
2. CL final and RU in the league isn't really decline or, if it is, it implies that Chelski were much better before than they were.

To be fair, it is partly to do with United's rise since they finished 3rd when Chelskovskibiovski won their first title. Still, the fact that United pipped them in both the CL and PL shows that a mega-rich sugar daddy can't guarantee success neither can you guarantee a world class footballer will succeed at another club. Arsenal offloads have seen it many a time.

Ha, excellent! :rtfl

MasterBlaster76 added 3 Minutes and 45 Seconds later...

If they do get bids accepted though, one thing good (apart from humour) will come out of it. The money grabbers, and the ones with some self-respect will be come clear to see.

lolllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

"Ronaldo has said he wants to play for the biggest club in the world, so we will see in January if he is serious," Al-Fahim said in The Guardian.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D. This gets funnier by the day:D.

That is true, this will show us the players who are nothing but money grabbers and those who want to play for a truly big club with a glittering history and a certain pedigree.

Man City are smaller and always will be smaller than (in no particular order)

Man Utd (apart from that one, of course)
Real Madrid
Barcelona
AC Milan
Inter Milan
Juventus
Liverpool
Arsenal
Chelsea (yes)
Tottenham

and many, many more! City really are embarrassing themselves at the moment, acting like they're suddenly a 'big club'!
