Whoops, just checked out the wiki page, he is out Fiorentina.

How would we be changing the system? All he has to do is play Anderson slightly further up the field whilst someone like Carrick/Fletcher/Hargreaves sits in that gap and distributes.

Anderson should not be sold, he should be played in the correct position, as I have said before, it is only SAF that doesn't see he should be playing just behind the strikers in that gap between the midfield and the attackers.

Ferguson intially did play him in that position when he was frist bought - but he struggled. It was when he was played a defense mid-fielder role that earned him a call up to Brazil national, was when he showed promise.

But he couldn't maintain that form of 07/08 in the 08/09, thus putting more pressure on Scholes to keen performing & even Giggs had to play centrally @ times.

He has to go. United dont have time to wait for him to develop this season. A proven mid-fielder is needed to back-up Fletcher/Carrick with Scholes & Giggs about the go & Hargreaves fitness issues.

Anderson is quickly becoming "Klberson part 2"

Obertan and Diouf were both buys for the future, Diouf will take love to develop but he doesn't seem like a rubbish player, they're certainly better players than Tosic and Ljajic.

I never saw the sense in Obetran. He is supposed to be the back-up winger to Nani/Valencia - but ATS he is crap. If one of Nani/Valencia gets injured for any lenghtly period & Obetran has to replace, thats an utter joke. SAF was better of getting Robben as part deal for Ronaldo instead of buying that unproven talent.

The less said about Tosic & Ljajic the better id say..:facepalm

You could say the same about Nani though, originally he struggled because Ronaldo was just the focus of the side, but now look at how Nani is playing, possibly one of our best players. This should be his best year yet.

Why not give Anderson another go up there now that Ronnie has gone?

Yeah, Ljajic is at Viola. Just saw that the deal broke down due to issues over his work permit. Mhmmm.

Anyone think Matty James is any good?

Personally, I wouldn't want Ozil to leave Bremen to any club except ManU, since I support both Bremen and ManU(and Atletico), and I want Bremen to win the league title once. This season would probably be their best shot, with Ozil and Marin really hitting their stride last season. Iirc, Ozil's dream is Barcelona however.

Anyone seen the Ozil 2050 ad? It's awesome.

The system we played vs weaker teams and generally in the Premiership:

Giggs would play on the left but drift centrally, Evra would overlap becoming the wide man on the left. Valencia would stick to the right hand side. Scholes would stay deeper seeing the whole pitch. Rooney would be up top. Berbatov would drop deeper almost playing in a free role, and Fletcher/Gibson would attack the space left by Berbatov.

The system vs stronger teams and in the Champions League:

Berbatov would be dropped for someone like Carrick. Fletcher/Gibson would still attack the last line of defence and make forward runs. Carrick and Scholes would be deeper, Scholes playing sideways balls to the widemen. These two deeper midfielders would offer greater protection to counter attacks.

Where would Anderson fit into these systems? He hasn't got the vision and technique to play in Scholes' role, he hasn't got the patience and temperament to play in Carrick's role, and why play him in Fletcher's role when Gibson was excellent there as well?

Very happy at the capture of David James. It's massive for a club like us with ambitions of Premier League football to have World Cup standard players in our starting line-up.

Juventus admit Liverpool want Denmark star Christian Poulsen | Mail Online

Dont think he would be a good enough replacement for Mascherano. Has a tendacy to commit stupid fouls, which is not what you need from a qulaity DM. Hodgson is better of trying to buy his teamate & former Liverpool man Sissoko. Or even looking to get Diarra from Madrid if Khedira is really going to Madrid.

It's impossible for Liverpool to directly replace Mascherano. There's no one they can realistically sign. They clearly need to get someone in though. In the match vs Borrussia there were clear problems in the defence. The defence needs protection at the back, especially with the lack of pace. They were very fragile (especially Carragher and other experienced players which is worrying for Liverpool). I can't see them getting anyone much better than Poulsen tbh.

Well yea its hard to directly replace Mascherano who is argubaly the best DM in the world along with Essein & Y Toure.

But i have seen alot of Poulsen over the years & i really dont think he is premiership quality, at least for a top 4 side. His tackling is extremely erratic.

Guys like Sissoko, M Diarra, Zokora or Toulalan (maybe De Jong could be available as well in the potential Man City clear out) would be better buys. But if they want to play for Liverpool is different story.

Top 7 ;)

Perhaps, but like you said, would they want to join Liverpool?

Have you heard about this:

Manchester United's Anderson dragged clear of burning car after crash | Football | The Guardian

Sounds like a close shave for him!

Over the past few years the transfers have been quite successful on a whole. Obviously there have been a few flops but that's expected.

Funnily enough, that's often happened with big money signings - Berbatov & Veron to name two.
