I'm on the boat that thinks Berbatov is a quality player so I wouldn't call him a flop. He offers something to the team that no one else does. He's been great in pre-season so far so if he can continue the form (and actually get the backing of his own fans at least!) then maybe he can have a great season. When I see him play I always see glimpses of Bergkamp in him.
I think Fergie was unlucky with Veron. He's a fantastic player in his own right and I think in a different era he could've been classed as the best in the world. Look at whose the best midfielder in the world - by far and away Xavi. Veron's role is not to different to that of Xavi's. I think at the time there was a considerable decline in the ball playing midfielder role. Players like Guardiola had to retire pre-maturely because they just didn't fit into modern day football. He did pick up form though for Man Utd but was halted by injury.
