Football Transfers Thread

I'm on the boat that thinks Berbatov is a quality player so I wouldn't call him a flop. He offers something to the team that no one else does. He's been great in pre-season so far so if he can continue the form (and actually get the backing of his own fans at least!) then maybe he can have a great season. When I see him play I always see glimpses of Bergkamp in him.

I think Fergie was unlucky with Veron. He's a fantastic player in his own right and I think in a different era he could've been classed as the best in the world. Look at whose the best midfielder in the world - by far and away Xavi. Veron's role is not to different to that of Xavi's. I think at the time there was a considerable decline in the ball playing midfielder role. Players like Guardiola had to retire pre-maturely because they just didn't fit into modern day football. He did pick up form though for Man Utd but was halted by injury.

Agreed, Veron is a great player - but just not at Utd. Berbatov was great at Spurs - he is simply not the same player at Utd for some reasons. Never mind the workrate thing - you never saw him miss half as many chances at Spurs as he has at Utd. Forlan as well - he's a terrific player, but it just didn't happen for him at Utd. Doesn't look like we've got a terrific record with Latin Americans - let's hope our new Mexican bucks the trend.

Confidence comes into it I think. If the majority of your own fans think you're ████, how low must your confidence be? I think a confident, full flowing Berbatov is amazing to watch.

Cristiano Ronaldo Should Be Exchanged With Lionel Messi.
In La Liga.
Raul Should Not Leave Real.
Victor Valdes Is A Pressy Guy

Andres Iniesta Must Be Traded With Xabi Alonso In La Liga
My Shocking Trades.
Again I Say, Victor Valdes Is A Pressy Guy.

While we're on that topic, Haarithan can you please stop using smilies so excessively? It degrades the quality of your post and most of them aren't necessary.

Chelsea have agreed a fee with Benfica for Ramires. A fee is stated to be around 18m pounds.

A very good player but I can only see him being a back up for Essien unfortunately. He's a very talented player though - an absolute machine who can run up and down for 90 minutes but he's not just a kick and rush player either.
