Football Transfers Thread

I am really disappointed with Fergusons dealing of Berbatov. Should have given him more chances this season considering he did score goals when he got games.

On the Glazer topic, I am not too well aware of the facts, but the way I see it, it hasnt limited our transfer power. When Ferguson wants a player bad he gets him. We spend 50M last season if I am not mistaken, and am expecting quite a bit to be spend this year. Its just that now we have more competition within the City for trophies and signings. But if any footballer is caught between United or City I think he will prefer the former.

I have to give Dimitar credit - he hasn't run moaning to the papers - but his treatment at Utd has been a bit crap recently. Now don't get me wrong, I think Hernandez is a great player, but he's like Solskjaer. For some reason, they both just seem to work better as super-subs. I said towards the end of the season that it should've been Rooney and Berbatov but as mentioned above, Dimitar is clearly no longer in Sir Alex's plans. Rather than just warm the bench, I'd like to see him go elsewhere, because he's a great player. Preferably nowhere in England though. :p

Dimi has always gotten unbelievably unfair press as well. He gets called lazy by everyone, but opta stats showed he actually covered more ground than most people. Not his fault he's just effortlessly classy. Typical England though, that because he doesn't run around and kick people, he gets accused of not having passion or whatever term is used as a substitute for skill and talent :p

He reminds me very much of Cantona - they both have the same somewhat 'languid' style.

I know what we did wrong: we gave him the wrong number!!!! 7 is the obvious choice for him! :)

Yea would have preferred to start alot more games with him or Welbeck, but the latter still isnt the finished product.

Since we are to let him go, who are the targets Ferguson has got in mind? Owen is leaving too and we need atleast another striker. I was thinking about getting Rossi to return.

Doesn't Rossi spend most of the year on the treatment table? Seems little point replacing one injured striker (Owen) with another? I'll be honest I'm not that up to date on his career.

Berbs would never drop kick a fan in the chest :D

United at the moment should pull out all straps to get Debuchy/Van der Weil, Modric and Hazard next summer.

I must be the only Utd fan who is happy that teams like Chelsea and City have been funded by rich owners. It's made the Premiership much more entertaining and competitive and brought in much better players to the league.

The problem that Utd have is that they can't compete with the likes of City etc for the marquee players. Yes they have money to spend but on the likes of Ashley Young and Phil Jones. Hardly the calibre of Silva, Aguero and Toure.

Here's a great article on Utd's finances btw if anyone's interested. It's very long but also very informative. The Swiss Ramble: Manchester United - Introducing The Brand

I'm pretty sure Man U could have signed Aguero many times in the last few years and probably Silva. Yet despite their quality in Spain, clubs in England are always reluctant to outlay the money on someone who might not adjust.

^^And we did and it pay off and with balotelli as well what a assist it was at the time we need it most still not the fan of him or his antics.
and for berba i was reading an article on sky that he doesnt feel valued so he will leave definetly but says that i will definetly not go to city i m loyal .first tell that guy who want you.you cant make the place in our reserves :p:p:lol.

What's happening is City are getting Hazard, United are getting Kagawa and Modric and Chelsea are getting Hulk. United spending the most of the lot, obviously.

I'd be most afraid of Arsenal though, we're signing a 13-year old who was playing in the England U16's last summer:D.

Screw it, we're kerplucked. Be very afraid of Chelsea, imagine what Hulk could do at a place like Chelsea, no more Kalou playing on the wings, Hulk instead... Plus another attacker, either number 10 or winger so that Mata can play behind the striker and that's unstoppable. Let's say Hazard, as e's considering Chelsea now.

Hazard-In-form Torres-Hulk---

There's surely no way Kagawa will cost more than Hulk, if your predicted transfers occur.

Was trying to explain to a mate of mine that Chelsea not getting the Champs league was the best thing that could happen to Arsenal in terms of making 3rd theirs for next year. As it is, potential targets still have 3 clubs with potentially more appeal with regards wages and trophies. You guys would still have been more attractive than Spurs and Newcastle. It's a pretty bad day for football in general really, when a club who aims to break the top 4 in the right way ends up screwed by a club practicing short-termism and financial doping.

No, but Modric and Kagawa together would as he suggested ;)
