Football Transfers Thread

I couldn't careless, i'd rather get 2 successful seasons with us act like a complete prat and then leave than have a Kalou who has had 5-6 crap seasons whilst not creating any problems for the club

Look at the Tevez situation, he comes back after all his disgraceful actions, and pushes city on to the title, if these pain int @ss players contribute to winning titles then for all is forgiven

Wouldn't be a bad bit of business. He'd sell to Madrid for a lot more than just 32 m.

Never meant it as a downside that he was leaving within a few seasons.

I think the hope at this point in time is that Marin can fill the gap he leaves.

Now that Rogders is Liverpool's boss what happened to Sigurdsson's deal? Apparantly he was the driving force behind the transfer. Could he lure The guy with him to the reds?

Funny.

Must be very strange for a manager like him putting heart and soul into signing a player, only for you to leave as soon as it's done.

I was also expecting Martinez to bring Moses with him to Pool. It'll be interesting to see where he goes now. I'm sure he'll beg for CL football as he can't play with his old manager now at a new club, so I'll bet if nothing is done by mid-August he'll go to Pool.

They'll probably end up signing Heskey. Like with all their deals.

Chelsea are going to sign Hulk.

Their attack is just getting better.

Overrated as hell though. Imagine what he'd be without his physical ability.

May cost more than Hazard, but Hazard is the much bigger signing and will be the better player.

Not a bad signing by any means but Abramovich really doesn't know what he's doing. I suppose it doesn't matter for him though, all he wants are big stars.

There's nothing wrong with using you're physical abilities to your advantage. If we go along that line imagine Drogba without his physical prowess? Shite.

Carragher might have gotten within 5 yards of him though at some point in their careers :p

Was thinking about the same thing.

He's a good finisher and dribbler. Without physical abilities Eto'o would not have risen so high.

Physical abilities are a big advantage in football, provided the players know how to use it.

In truth, he's somewhat similar to Drogba for his style of play. Although the added advantage is that he can play on the flanks.

I'd say he's a bit more guile than grit than people seem to be suggesting. His power is more in his ferocious shooting ability from just about anywhere.

Even Ronaldo wouldn't be the same player without his physical abilities. You don't need to know how to beat 3 men anymore, just how to fall over the first one :p

^^And if your looking for that men who can beat 3 or 4 players there is only one messi...

lolz for pool:lol:lol

Yes, but the fact is the Portuguese league is nowhere near as strong as the Prem. Drogba came from France, France has a lot more physical league than Portugal does.

Odds are he won't be able to rely so heavily on his strength like he did in Portugal, and he'll find it difficult adapting. It's also this physicality that made him as overrated and overpriced as he is.

Plus his heading ability is nowhere near Drogba's.
