RVP is so much better than Rooney, how could you not want him?!?

I'd love RvP at the club - but I reckon there are weaker areas in the team that need addressing, and we're not being linked with anyone in those areas. RvP sure would be the 'marquee' signing we've been crying out for since losing Ronaldo - not that he's a Ronaldo; they're entirely different types of players. Arsenal have said they want ?20m, but for Utd it'll have to be ?25m. If he does sign, he's gotta have the No.7 shirt, for sure. He's got that shirt in my Fifa 13 Man Utd team if he signs anyway! ;)

RvP and Rooney - that is a tempting prospect, I must say!

What is not lost on me, is that the clubs who get screwed over are actually all the midtable clubs and below. If clubs are gonna keep poaching other clubs players then sod it, they can pay over the odds for it.

I think it's the right move from Moura to be honest. He'll play a lot more and it'll probably help him adjust to Europe much the same way it did for Ronaldinho. Why move to crappy Manchester when you could go live in Paris?

Sir Alex Ferguson: PSG paying €45m for Lucas Moura is mad - ESPN Soccernet

Ye SAF is right here. Like WTF, what will Neymar cost when he eventually decides to leave Brazil. Clubs all over the world are taking advantage of the system and it looks even worse in the global recession climate. :facepalm

45m Euro? That's about ?31m! For a flaming nineteen year old. This is getting crazy - surely Fifa can do something about this if they can be bothered getting their finger out of their arse? :facepalm

Anyway, if we do have ?31m to burn on an attacker, I'd much rather have RvP - a proven Premiership player! You never know with Brazilians - they might settle like Juninho did, or they might do a Robinho.

Personally i think these Brazilian kids Lucas, Neymar, Oscar, Leandro are getting over-hyped and all these clubs worldwide are falling for the hype.

They may be talented, but Brazil are still in work in progress for the 2014 world-cup, after struggling since that golden era from the 2006 world-cup were knocked out in the quarter finals.

Its the a MASSIVE question mark if those guys are the real deal IMO.

There's a financial side to it as well. Brazil is a country in a financial boom, so the money spent on someone like Moura could be worth just as much in potential sponsorships/shirt sales and marketing potential back in Brazil. It's a market that is rapidly growing, and as well as the clubs themselves not needing to sell and thus being able to command bigger fees, so to is it a market that is worth getting a foothold in.

I'm not really that fussed - Utd haven't had such a great record with South Americans recently - Veron, Kleberson - both failures at Utd. Forlan not much better, and Tevez - he did well while he was with us. The twins don't look too bad either.

More importantly, because of the financial boom, they aren't compelled to sell and hence can demand high fees.

PSG will recognise this as a chance to establish themselves in the Brazilian market as clubs like Man U did within the Asian market decades ago. They already have the link with someone like Ronaldinho having played there, and now they can re-establish it at a time where the potential rewards to themself are higher. Plus, the money, when you're that rich, doesn't really mean anything when you throw another 10 mill on.

All true guys, which makes it more ridiculous why any club would want to buy them now, given they are unproven at the moment.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Lucas will be awesome for PSG.

Possibly. But i'm taking a wait and see approach with these hyped new generation of Brazilian young stars.

Lucas will be fine. In terms of prospects, he is one of the top attackers in the world. His ceiling is bloody huge.

The fee is nothing for a club like PSG. People may see it as a waste, but PSG just see it as snapping up one of the best young talents in the world.

Brazilians are overrated for sure, but you can't deny that some of them have crazy talent like Lucas and Neymar. They may look like nothing more than guys who do fancy tricks and skills, but in reality they could still be fairly good players anywhere in the world. They run like lightning, they have typically outstanding Brazilian skills and they can certainly unleash a rocket.

On RVP though, I will be physically sick if he goes to United. And I know that is not the worst reaction a fan would make, I wouldn't be surprised if there were riots outside the stadium after that... It's a bit like Liverpool selling Gerrard to Man Utd or Man City selling Joe Hart to Man Utd for us.

I am confident it won't happen.

It's impossible but it would be hilarious if he went to Spurs.

They could certainly use him.

Maybe he'll fail at Man Utd and go on loan to Spurs after a couple of seasons;)?
