Song has been told he can leave Arsenal as well. Very replaceable, but would've been better to keep him as there are just too many new players.
Europa League may be aiming a bit high

.
Nah, seriously though. 24 m for RVP is very good, I would be happy with that if it wasn't United we were selling him to. If we can get a good fee for Song too, at least 20 m (fully expecting Barca to fork out), it's money that will be reinvested. We already have a huge transfer kitty, so over the next couple of seasons I'm sure the money will be reinvested well. RVP was a big part of our team last season, but losing him isn't as big as it was to lose one of our best ever creative midfielders in Fabregas, who had the team built around him for so many seasons. We finished 3rd after losing him with Ramsey as a replacement, we have now replaced Ramsey and have Giroud and Podolski for RVP. Not as big a loss as it could've been. We've been worse off before anyway. We finished 4th two seasons ago with a partnerships of Djourou-Squillaci and Squillaci-Shitty Koscielny, these things will be sorted out.
Sahin >>>>>> Song anyway if it happens, only problem there is lack of physicality with an Arteta-Sahin midfield or Arteta-Wilshere. M'Vila would bring the physicality, but not as good as Song and doesn't have Song's creativity.
Fully expecting all of Song, Walcott and RVP to be gone by September. That means Gervinho and Ox are our longest serving attackers and Djourou is our longest serving player. Another player will be brought in, probably two, so we'll see whether they are guys like N'Zonzi and Mirallas or Jovetic and Sahin.

Ha well its true now. Still think its weird choice by RVP, since i reckon the gunners have done the best they can to bring in players to back him up.
Big boost for United, since it may sort of show they still can pull players while Arsenal seem to be viewed as feeder club now for good.
He is the difference really. With United being so turd in midfield, with Song and Walcott we have an equal if not better squad, and with RVP, United are better.
RVP and Rooney can both play striker and are more naturally second strikers, so it's a frightening prospect having them both changing positions constantly and using their finishing as well as Rooney's power and RVP's creativity.
Better than Tevez and Aguero for sure, and that's saying something.
Arsenal surely a selling club too. Sad really that RVP had to go, as it sends this message to everyone. Anyway, RVP thought he was bigger than the club, you don't want a guy like that in your team. Arsenal didn't HAVE to sell, to me it seems like Wenger's choice to get rid of Song and RVP (and therefore Walcott with RVP).
Chelsea are chasing Moses and Schurrle, fully expecting Walcott to be unsettled by RVP's departure, allowing Chelsea to swoop in by the end of the window. Or Liverpool. Very replaceable though, I rate Gervinho higher.
