Football Transfers Thread

Seems like ManU are ready to exchange both Silvestre as well as John O Shea in return for Carrick plus a cash bid.I cant understand the move, although it seems that Spurs might well be tempted with this move. Why exactly would you want to see someone as versatile as O'Shea? Anyway its ManU's loss.

But is he good enough?Has he played enough senior football?
He played for Fulham last season, as Del Horno was first choice at Chelsea. I think you will remember him (Bridge) well as he knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League in the 2003-04 quarter finals with a sublime strike.

Del Horno completes Valencia move for ?5M

Real said that they are willing to offer up to 60 million euros for Kaka.

Soldado has been loaned to Osasuna for 1 year.

60 million euros? That is just ridiculous, no footballer is worth that much, regardless of how good they are.

They paid ?47 Million for Zidane, that would be about 75 Million euros.

60 Million euros is about ?35-?38 Million, way too much anyway.

I know Kaka dint have an extraordinary WC, but he is one heck of a player, and I wouldnt be surprised if we actually paid that much for him.

These stats just back up my opinion. I may sound like an old man or a purist here, but there is just way too much money in football nowadays.

I don't want to sound like Bob Geldoff either, but imagine what that 60 million euros could do elsewhere in the world.

Yes! Duff's signed a five-year contract at Newcastle! :) Should blend in well with the assistance of int'l teammate Given..
It was almost inevitable that he was leaving Stamford Bridge, though, and I remain hopeful that he recaptures some of his previous spark.

I actually feel sad to see Duff depart. He is one of my fav players, since the Blackburn Rovers days. I was so excited when he joined us in 2003, and actually went all the way to Malaysia to watch him play in the Premier League tournament that Chelsea went on to win. (beat Newcastle in the final:D )

But then I agree he was too good a player to not be playing regularly, but at Chelsea, unless you are Cech, Terry, Lampard or Makelele, its very difficult to do that.

I believe the deal closed at ?10.3 million.

That's quite a bit below what Chelsea had signed him for, eh? Anyway, you're right, he's a class player, and that talent isn't done justice at a place like Stamford. Another one that stands out is that cracking volley of his when Newcastle were put to shame! (5-0...:()

Newcastle have told the stock market he cost them ?5 Million, so that's the official figure, nice and cheap :D

I agree he's a very good player, but that is too much imo.
