Does having a criminal record really effect his playing abilities though?

I dont condone his crime (Drink driving and driving without insurance) but he has served his time for this and it's what most kids seem to do in their spare time these days anyway :p

Disclaimer: You would think I've been reading the Daily Mail from that statement wouldn't you, but I haven't ;)
Lol :D My problem is that he's done it before, he seems one of those people who'll do it again. I hope he proves me wrong though and takes us single handedly to the title.

I'm pretty sure the UEFA rules that teams must have 8 home country players in their squad for European football had something to do with it too.

Its new for the new season iirc. Each team must have 8 home country players in its 25, 4 of which must be trained by the club. You can have less but your squad size is reduced.

I don't know what Benitez sees in Pennant. Its already bad enough having a criminal record but his football doesn't make up for it. He's fast, thats it.
Yes,i kinda agree.Pennent isn't worth it as far as i'm concerned, and i was very surprised when i went on to the Prem Site to see that the deal had been maed.

Who are the other English players in our squad?Cashley Cole, and ......(sorry just had a blank)....

This must be very new, not heard of it till you mentioned it.

So what will Arsenal do?

Cole and Campbell won't be Arsenal players by the start.

Oficial Statement from Realmadrid.com

Van Nistelrooy, New Real Madrid Player.

This mean Ruud agreed to join Real? :happy :p

More than decent. But Spurs are the real gainers here. They got Zokora in, and sold Carrick for a higher price to get an overall profit.

I would say that that was an excellent deal for Spurs,Im suprised at how low a fee they paid West Ham to get Carrick in the first place.

Thats because he wasnt fancied much at that time and has come off age at White Hart Lane. If Chelsea sell Lampard now, they'll get a lot more than what they paid for him to West Ham.

I got it a little wrong. I've had a read through the regulations and what I said didnt come into effect this season (It was suggested by UEFA that it would but they have changed it slightly). Out of the A squad of 25 players 4 of these must be locally trained players however. So in Arsenal's case they must fill these with younger english players or reduce the squad size. I believe a locally trained player could be from another country but would have had to have signed for the club under the age of 15 and lived in the country for 5 years.

Bayern are up to 17 million euros for Ruud. Although the Spanish papers are still saying that Madrid are in the running - one paper even said he'll be presented on Thursday :D.
Haha - apparently the Spanish papers were right (or close to it - it's Friday, not Thursday). Ruud came to Madrid for 15 million euros (?10.2 million) and passed his medical.
