Football Transfers Thread

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sinclair in a similar situation as Johnson after a few years at City.

Come on Spurs... grab Johnson now! We could really do with him to supplement Bale and Lennon. Also, Sinclair going to City is pretty much the end of his career :rolleyes

Bad move for Sinclair - as you said, it could spell the end of his regular playing days.

I guess the other side of the coin for Sinclair is with the amount of football Man City will be playing he's quite likely to play in a lot of higher stakes football in relative terms. Fair play to him though, as it's a rare player that leaves a club like Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal etc and ends up back at a top club.

It depends i guess. But its encouraging that City have bought two talented young Englishmen, so we will see how much chances they get.

The Chilean striker we're tracking has been granted a work permit, so the signing should be complete soon. Still no sign of a midfield ballwinner, but at least we've got a bit more cover in defence now - our new man can play LB or RB apparently, although he's better at LB.

QPR bid for Tottenham defender Michael Dawson - ESPNFC

Interesting potential signing. Hopefully he stays fit. QPR have signed some top players and its a bit of shocked they conceded 5 vs Swansea at the weekend.

i think people are reading too much into that scoreline, remember bolton at qpr 12 months earleir?

it doesn't mean qpr are doomed. it doesn't mean swansea will coast to midtable again.

Well i'm not sure if having a ball winner in mid-field is that important for United to be fair.

It seems like the world following the success of Spain is correctly trying to structure their mid-field will playmakers, registra's, triquartista's.

The Scholes/Cleverley base vs Everton was lovely and Carrick will also slot back into the role as the season progresses.

Presuming everything goes well for Fletcher and Jones is back fit, i reckon they could be used as defensive mid-fielders on occasions.

it really wasn't.

I didn't see what was not to like about it. Two Englishmen keeping the ball and showing great passing skill.

Problem was that they were physically dominated in that match, which is where this ball winning mid would come in. Although it would help, I really can't think of any suitable players for the role. Don't want Utd to sign lesser players just to get someone in.

From time to that will happen. The same way how a few times Barca/Spain Xavi/Iniesta/Alonso gets similar problems against such teams.

On another day a team like Everton would have passed out of the game and end up chasing after the ball.

As the season progresses i fully expect United's mid-field trio to dominate most teams they face and be far more clinical.

How the hell did United get a work permit for Henriquez?

Not even a fuss, just gets it straight away with no international appearances while Joel Campbell who starts for Costa Rica can't get one:facepalm.
