Football Transfers Thread

By "signing of the season", I meant it was the best piece of business so far in the summer window (in English football).

Signing of the season for you if it happens, not for the whole league. 19 million is a lot, prices being quoted for us were 1-2 million loan and 12-14 million purchase.

Let's not go as far as 19 million straight away, ok? It's only 5 million as of now, and who knows? If he shines for us this season, then signing him on a permanent basis next season for 14 million would be an absolute steal.

Even with the buyout clause, I can't see Sahin wanting to stay, since he has said he wants to make it at Madrid recently. He worked hard for Dortmund to earn his move to Real, why would he get there then throw it all away after one season? Still, the buyout clause isn't confirmed by all sources just yet.

I considered it a good deal back when it was a 1-2 million pound fee with a lower buyout clause as well as paying less of his wages. Also didn't hear that he really wants to make it at Madrid.

Regardless, he would be a cut above any of your current midfielders, but after spending so long out, I can't see him coming back to the top class levels he was hitting with Dortmund after a while. Would've been fine if it was with the view of a more permanent deal, but as a loan, not fine.

Signing of the season is way overboard, definitely Liverpool's best signing, but there have been at least ten better deals this season in terms of both value for money and the talent of the players brought in.

it's not the signing of the season. 5 million up front is a lot with a chance of not singing him permanently.

Signing of the season will end up being someone like michu or pogrebnyak

Come on, Destro moved to Roma for some 11.5M Euros on loan, or am I wrong?

But well, 5M seems to be a bit too high for just one season.

But well, he'll probably end up going to Roma in the end, unless something unnatural occurs.

I was talking only about English football....

Do agree with Ste though, completely overlooked Michu (2m), Pogrebnyak, or even Kevin Mirallas for that matter.

Nah, was just comparing that weird loan with this.

Also, they are in a similar situation with Bojan if I'm right for 2 seasons.

Ah, that was also an amazing buy.

Well, can anybody give me an insight on Azpilicueta?

Wigan Athletic accept Chelsea bid for Victor Moses - ESPNFC

Decent signing for Chelsea, better than Marin and PL experienced. Could grow into a top class player and one of the best dribblers in the league.

Good for us too as it means Ryo Miyaichi will get more games.

I just realized that Moses had actually played for England at youth level?. Always thought he was Nigerian from the start.

Well that makes it the second talented young player of African decent, that learn his trade in England, in two seasons (the other being arsenal's Emmanuel Frimpong), that has chosen to represent their heritage country instead of England at international level.

Not that its a problem, but i'm just a bit surprised that couldn't have been convinced to play for their adopted England.
