Don't think either Moses or Frimpong are big losses.

Alex Song: I never wanted to leave Arsenal - ESPNFC

Old story, but that came late into the news.

He got kicked out of Arsenal.

He was boasting to all his team mates that he was getting interest from Barca, came late to training and was lazy. Steve Bould almost bit his head off.

The club didn't need to sell, Wenger didn't want him so sold him. Nice punishment. You get to play for Barca:lol.

After Modric next is Bale and i am sure he will join Madrid too

AVB is still fairly terrible at this stage though.

To be linked with a genius like Moyes and then get AVB is disappointing.

He is an average manager who got over-rated for leading Porto to the Europa League with a Champions League strong squad.

He does have a peculiar policy in things, a bit like an arrogant and ruthless boss, but fails to implement it properly because of his lack of experience. His signings are also good, considering that he stole Mata from Arsenal and Sigurdosson from Liverpool, he certainly knows what to do in the transfer market. But that alone won't get you through.

Yeah it was a good squad. He went unbeaten too but Porto own that league like Juve will own Serie A and PSG will own Ligue 1.

His signings are poor. He clearly doesn't even have his own scouting network outside of England and resorts to stealing players from other clubs. He could've got Mata for 10 m cheaper if he triggered his buyout clause (which expired) a couple of weeks earlier, but waited. He bought Lukaku and insulted Lukaku with how he treated him. Wasn't really his choice to buy him.

He then buys guys who were Harry's long-term targets who were also indeed discovered by other managers like Vertonghen (Wenger) and Sigurdsson (Rodgers). He still does the same, and it seems like both last summer and this summer he has only gone for EPL experienced players or players from Porto or other targets, e.g. Adebayor, Raul Meireles, Yann M'Vila, Joao Moutinho.

He'll be a decent manager one day maybe but he alone is the reason why I reckon Spurs will struggle.

Cahill was a good signing for Chelsea. Lukaku was not his choice like you say, and Mata was very closely watched by Arsenal so he maybe did not have the chance of striking a deal sooner. Arsenal surely may have played a part there. :D

Definitely an overrated boss, but can he do something like Pardew maybe?:D

Cahill was again initially our target (we do scouting for the whole league), and also an EPL player so again not much insight.

Mata had a buyout clause active until something like July 31st for around 14-15 m. We wanted to be cheap and get him for 12-13 m (seriously) and Chelsea got him halfway through August for 24 m:lol. He could've just gotten to the clause. Arsenal are no opponent for Chelsea in the market, they could've trumped us.

Not sure what's funnier. That you guys think AVB has bought a single player at either club, or that you think the top clubs don't all have pretty much the same scout reports :p

Walcott rejected his new contract. Liverpool and Manchester City are favourites, we would probably prefer to sell to Man City but he'd most likely prefer his boyhood favourites Liverpool. You need someone quick though so will most likely pay a good amount for him, and he's better than Sinclair. He would be amazing in a counter attacking set-up.

In our front four, Gervinho is now our most Arsenal-experienced player:rolleyes. We need an attacker and a midfielder in a few days, hell maybe even a second attacker and a versatile defender too. Fully expecting the return of Yossi to the Emirates on deadline day.

Dembele also going to Spurs for 15 m, brilliant signing.

Also talk of De Jong or Dzeko coming to Arsenal for Theo. Sigh. Wouldn't be too bad but there is a lot better out there.

Wow this is depressing, from possible title challengers a few weeks ago when we had Cazorla, Giroud, Podolski, RVP and Song, as well as Sahin in the bag, to this:facepalm.

Its typical Arsenal guys....

No players on last year of contract any more though. Won't happen again for 1-2 seasons.

Title challenge in 14/15... If we're not mid-table by then.
