Football Transfers Thread

Nice read. Would dearly love Lewis Holtby at Liverpool. With his contract expiring come summer, he should be available for less than 10M. He's an Everton fan though, similar to how Joe Allen was a Man Utd fan. :spy

Never heard of a Sam Byram before (linked with the Merseyside clubs), but I don't mind a new 19 year old fullback either to cover for Enrique.

-----------------Suarez
Downing/Sterling - Holtby - Sturridge
------------Gerrard-----Lucas---
Enrique---Agger------Skrtel-------Johnson

Ye Holtby is a nice little player.

When Dembele is controlling the midfield and Bale is in superhuman mode everything is fine but I've seen plenty of games this season where they've just been completely shot of any creativity (mainly when Dembele doesn't play). Dempsey and Siggy just don't cut it for me and I think a return to a 4-2-3-1 with a top quality playmaker would be better as Adebayor hasn't really impressed this season. That said Defoe, seems to work better in a 2 man attack. Maybe a striker would be better lol.

Ye that too.

What do y'all make of Diame? Personally think at the age of 25, he's Top 4 material and provides that extra bit of dynamism for any club at midfield. Literally molested Chelsea and Liverpool, before we got lucky (he was injured on 65' when we were trailing 2-1, there after we went on to win 3-2 :p).

Anyway the main thing about him is that he has a release clause worth only 3.5M pounds! Would be an unbelievable bit of business for any club who can trigger that clause of his and convince him to join them!

Please don't get my hopes up. :(

If only Huntelaar hadn't renewed his contract...

--------------Reina--------------
Johnson---Skrtel--Agger---Enrique
-------Gerrard(c)----Sahin-------
-------------Sneijder------------
--Sterling---Huntelaar---Suarez--

That's top 4 material right there...

This. Knowing Brendan though, I thoroughly expect him to sign only Sturridge and Thomas Ince for 16M combined, and start Joe Allen over Nuri Sahin.

Would be great if Debuchy moves to Newcastle, he's the sort of player that'll complete their first XI.

We don't have a great history with our striker signings, Drogba the most recent exception

Think this could be a good one, although I almost wet my pants when we got Torres, and we all know how he turned out

Ye i had mentioned earlier in this thread that if the sneijder situation made him leave inter - that pool is easily one of the prime top euro clubs who could obviously need him as a 1st team player.

While now that Huntelaar is no leaving his german club, demba also would be perfect for pool. But of course it all depends on the owners if they are willing to spend big.

I think the situation with Demba Ba is all on wages, everyone's going to go for him because of the release clause(?7m?) in his contract and who ever offers the most in terms of wages will probably have him.

It's fairly well established that Ba is high risk. his knee is effectively a ticking time bomb and could go at any minute.

His talent isn't in question really, a player of his ability could easily go for 20 million. but he won't, because he's too high risk

Yea but come march 2013 it will be 2 years since Tony Pulis made that "ticking time-bomb" comment about Ba's knee injury.

Sure it may be still around, but he hasn't got injured yet @ either west ham or newcastle.

Now the rumour is that Ronaldo will return to Utd for ?60m, with Nani and De Gea going the other way. Who knows, eh? ;)
