I was just thinking how incredibly deadly United could be upfront, if they signed PSV's Kevin Strootman:

4-3-1-2

Carrick - Strootman - Cleverley
Kagawa
RvP - Rooney

Pfft lethal would be an understatement. 10m euros is all PSV want.....

Ba is an incredible signing, he'd be one of the hottest properties in Europe if it weren't for his knees.

Pato struggles in Milan along with Robinho in europe is one of the reasons why i think the hype neymar is getting is fairy over the the top given he hasn't played in europe yet.

hmmm, I'm not really so sure about this. pato signed for milan on the back of potential rather than proven results at 17. He actually was pretty good too but injuries and a bad attitude are behind him moving back to brazil now.

on the flip side oscar, ramires, hulk, thiago silva, hernanes, kaka, luiz, fernandinho have all been successes. sure there have been plenty of decent, lower profile signings as well, sandro of tottenham for example. brazil are still churning them out.

neymar has a phenomenal scoring record and has picked up player of the year awards three times in a row. it's a bit of a good record. the only worry is if he comes to europe with a primadonna attitude and isn't prepared to do the hard work to adapt that will be expected of him.

Hmm i wonder if SAF would be up for it. 10m euro is certainly a solid price for one of better young mid-fielders in europe for damn sure.

Not doubting brazil are still producing talent, some players have impressed me for sure as you said like oscar, william & the next boy from shaktar donesk, but their team has been struggling for an identity since the 2006 world cup exit and 2007 copa america win. Particu

Pato may have been a bit unlucky with injuries, but the hype neymar has right now is very similar to what robinho had before he came to europe. And i recall mexico this summer in the olympics final, those tight marking from the those defenders had neymar looking like a bit of one trick pony.

So i'm one of those fans who is not jumping on the neymar bandwagon just yet until he comes to europe. I just hope for his poor little shoulders that next years world cup pressure doesn't kill him.

Really having my doubts over this boy. Here's to hoping he proves me wrong.

The only positive thing for sturridge is that rogers is potentially a manager at big club who has faith in him, given as he said he has known him since he was 12.

As far as the big clubs in england go, young english talent really won't get much chance at city & chelsea currently. So although he clearly isn't the best option that pool could have gone for, as english player i'm excited to see what he can do, since it is his last chance to do well @ a big club.

Damn young ballers these days face a lot of pressure...

Ba joins Chelsea, but on a three and a half year contract, not a pay as you play!

Chelsea could be made to look even more foolish if his knees go next weekend or something.

Top player though and should slot into the starting line-up ahead of Torres immediately. Torres needs a kick up the backside and a bit of competition will be good for him.

We might start seeing the real Chelsea now that they have a clinical finisher to get on the end of all that creativity.

Excellent signing from Rafa. Really can't understand why you lot keep hyping his injuries?

BBC Sport - Demba Ba: Barnsley rejection to Chelsea transfer talks

The threat of injury has also failed to materialise, with the striker having missed only 17 games in the last seven years.

Missing just 17 games over the last 7 years is barely a feat to be anxious off. If anything, that's a pretty healthy record for a striker.

That's what I've been saying all time long. A good striker who can finish well is all that Chelsea need to become great.

It's nothing to do with this injury record, it's to do with the fact that he failed a medical at stoke due to his knee being rubbish. It hasn't gone yet but there is a high risk that it could go.

I'm pretty sure he failed a medical in Germany too, Hamburg or Stuttgart i think.

There is no way a striker of his ability would have a 500k relegation release clause at west ham and a 7million normal one at newcastle if there wasn't a huge flaw/risk attached.

I think he passed his medical at Chelsea though, hence why he was signed on a long term deal as opposed to a pay as you play.

it's probably to do with some hidden things (costs) we don't see and that go unreported.

i.e. chelsea are rich. they won't care about various insurance costs etc so can take the risk. If west ham got him on a full deal and they got relegated his wages and other fees would make it impossible to keep him.

Basically chelsea can spend 7 million and whatever else it takes, stoke and west ham could not take the risk
