Football Transfers Thread

Yaya and Kolo have always been about the money. To be fair, a lot of African footballers are. I fully understand them as well, why they should they give a feck about a club who would ditch them just as quickly and they have no inherent loyalty to.

He was clearly all about the money, but at least the subtext to that was that he manipulated his contract so he could plough half his wages back into his home country.

He's just crap at football.

Players like Etoo, Drogba, Mikel etc all went chasing the bigger paycheck.

I hope you were only kidding Bevab... (Milner is tragic!)

Somewhat yes, but he has the work rate and stamina that could rival Toure, but apart from that he isn't great.

One player who they could attempt for is Vidal, a quite similar player but he'll cost a fortune, although big fees are nothing for City.....

Problem is that he looks shot after 60-70 mins in CM and we've already got two others in Cleverley and Anderson who do the same.

There are younger, more reliable alternatives for Utd, others that wont miss part of the season at the African Nations Cup and aren't on ?250k a week.

Yeah, the whole African Nations mid-season gap thing is a bit of a pain when signing African players.

City love every player in the world in truth.

Watching world cup qualifiers i remained further convinced the player United should target is Kevin Stoortman.

He would be perfect partner to Carrick. Cleverley will get better but is still a work in progress.

Anderson hasn't lived up to potential & Ferguson's injury problems make him unreliable for the future.

Gundogan is amazing but he'll cost a lot for sure, I don't think Dortmund will let go of him easily.

Strootman is very much attainable.

Transfer news: Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen linked with Liverpool | Liverpool News, Fixtures, Results, Transfers | Sky Sports

Reports in the Dutch and English media have subsequently claimed that Liverpool are favourites to snap up Eriksen in a transfer worth around ?20million (?16.9m).

"We have a list of scouts from foreign clubs who have visited us and Liverpool have been a frequent visitor"

- Marc Overmars, Ajax's Technical Director

Don't you get my hopes up now... :(

His price tag would be incredibly higher than that, and Liverpool wouldn't need him for the moment too.

But given Liverpool's decent relationship with Ajax, they might just pull this off.
