Football Transfers Thread

His price tag would be incredibly higher than that, and Liverpool wouldn't need him for the moment too.

His contract expires in the summer of 2014, so he's obviously going to be available on a cut-price deal, and one of my mates who's an Ajax fan said this deal could be ideal for both parties - for we could make quite a coup in a player of his caliber, while Ajax cannot afford to see him go for free next year.

As for "Liverpool wouldn't need him for the moment too", I completely disagree:

--Coutinho----Sturridge------Suarez
---------------Eriksen------------

(or)

--Coutinho----Sturridge------Downing
---------------Suarez------------

Hopefully these are signs that we're trying to keep Suarez happy at Liverpool, for he's demanded an ambitious summer from our owners during the transfer market. Recreating the Suarez - Eriksen combo that could have probably wreaked havoc all over Europe during their Ajax days, before we eventually nicked Luis, would be a nice start.

Surely Liverpool wouldn't be the only team in for him, that could cause his price tag to go up (Didn't know that he had only one year left on his contract before posting that post lol).

Coutinho is really similar to him and Gerrard could play in his advanced role too. I'd prefer to see us strengthen other weak positions.

Agreed on this. 2 CBs > DM > LB = GK = CAM should be our priority IMO

I read an article that suggests Coutinho is so lightweight for the Premiership, that he could come out shockingly bad were he played at CAM. I think Rodgers has done the right thing in playing him at LW.

As for Gerrard, I thought that too, but looks like BR likes his front 4 to be pacy. Gerrard sadly isn't.

Coutinho would obviously improve his physique in the coming years, similar to how Ronaldo did I feel.

After thinking for sometime,

Somehow I feel giving a chance to Robinson would be better than bringing in a new left-back for some money.

And if Spearing manages to get himself into Rodgers plans next season, the defensive mid wouldn't also be required unless its a quite good player.

A goalkeeper and 2 new centre-backs would be needed though.

Spearing? Are you serious? Give up on mediocrity man - Robbo and Jay are just that!

Robinson is still young, although Spearing is just mediocre, I'll admit.:p

Okay,about soldado?
I read that since valencia are in a financial problem, soldado could be lured to the emirates for just 8 million, great player he is.
