Football Transfers Thread

Reports out of France has Ibrahimovic linked with a move away to either Real (Carlo Ancelotti) or City (linked with every decent striker on the market) after he supposedly fell out with new coach Laurent Blanc (I saw this coming really)... don't see us going for him, we're looking to cut our wage bill and signing Ibrahimovic would in no way coincide with that, good fit for Real though, a true Galactico if ever there was one.

Hopefully that should be the end of all the Negredo rumors.

Ancelotti apparently has a no poaching agreement with PSG, so that's that out the window, Chelsea maybe?

The signing of Thiago to Bayern as most have already said does seem very strange - that a mid-field overload.

That could only mean Pep probably doesn't rate one of them or maybe a sign that one of Robben or Ribery might be sold.

More likely just building for the long run, with 30 around the corner for the likes of Schweini, Ribery and Robben.

Martinez will surely be moved back into defence to accommodate others.

I hope Luiz Gustavo comes on the market now, we could really use him...

Eriksen would be a great signing.

Keeping Dzeko over getting Negredo isn't the best choice I don't think, Negredo is far more clinical amd will help Navas to settle.

I suspect he might, he is the least talented of all the Bayern mid-fielders now essentially now that Thiago is signed.

As things stand, I can see Bayern playing this XI:

-----------------Neuer--------------------
Lahm----Javi Martinez----Dante------Alaba
-----Schwein----------------Thiago----------
------------------Gotze--------------
Muller---------Mandzukic----------Ribery

I suspect they might pick up another striker as well with Gomez gone and Pizarro most likely following. Will have to be someone willing to be 2nd/3rd choice while Lewandowski and Mandzukic are there.

So, Thiago's gone to Bayern; a bit disappointed as he looked a real class player. Now we've put in a ?25m bid for Fabregas - Barca want more apparently.

At least Mr Moyes knows where our main weakness lies - he's said himself that we're short in midfield.

Poor Martinez, most likely he's gonna end up as the CB, something he doesn't like.:(

I'd be surprised if Pep went for Thiago alongside Schweinsteiger, that team could get ripped apart by Dortmund, if they do their usual act of pressurising Bayern during the early stages. They have been good versus Dortmund largely due to the presence of a tough mid alongside Schweinsteiger

This seems to be a bit odd.

Unless United go in for Luiz Gustavo themselves or someone like a Bender, there aren't many good midfielders I can see going there, Fabregas certainly isn't and isn't what they need anyway.

City and Chelsea well ahead.

They'll need someone like Gustavo to start deep, so if Javi Martinez drops to CB Gustavo will play a lot more, and will be a big part of Bayern's plans then. I think it'd be wise to use Martinez as a midfielder though, Pep said himself he realises that Bayern are Bayern and not Barca so their needs are different and playing Martinez at CB may not be the best option.

Transfer window's got a long way to go yet. ;)

It might not now, but I think the plan here is to sell Dzeko off next season and promote Guidetti in his place, guy's spent the whole of last season out injured and will most definitely need another loan spell to get back into the swing of things, hopefully to a mid-table PL club this time.

Gotze was Gomez's replacement... :rolleyes

Can't see Barca basically selling their bench off, it was going to be either Fabregas or Thiago, and now that Thiago's gone off, there's no way in hell Barca sell Fabregas too.

Not all that odd if you read what the French papers are writing, Ibra's supposedly not all that happy with the appointment of Laurent Blanc and has already got his agent Mino Raiola (AKA the best agent alive :p) on the hunt for a new club, who supposedly will be hunting down the streets of Manchester on Wednesday. ;)

With you on that, what United need is a holding midfielder and Fabregas certainly isn't that.

He'll be playing almost exclusively out wide this season.
