Football Transfers Thread

I'm hoping that both Bale and Suarez stay with their respective clubs, Real can have Ibrahimovic, Arsenal can have Higuain and Napoli can have... Dzeko, take him. :p

Ha i'm not a United fan, but reading the last few pages it seems some people are coming up with some interesting insinuations about Moyes coaching credentials before the campaign has even starter. It almost as if the non united fan are willing Fabregas (whether or not he wants to go or not) to not go United. :lol

This is more about Barca than it is Fabregas, Barca don't want to sell and don't need to sell, Xavi is 33 and Thiago is out the door.

Arsenal pursuing Higuain & Suarez in hope of signing one. No fee agreed on Higuain, probably need to pay ?40m release clause for Suarez #afc

I believe Ornstein, I've been with him the last three transfer windows, he has never gotten anything wrong and people like him are the reason why BBC are so reliable.

:rolleyes

Ye i agree & i'd be surprised if he goes to United too. But i'm seeing some posters already equating the potential United inability to capture Cesc as a sign that Moyes can't handle/attract big players to Utd, along with some other over the top assertions about his management credentials. All which seem a big knee-jerk with a ball not kicked for the season.

He's not going to Man U.End of story, please.
35m useless for Cesc

Oooooh... The Sun - that fount of truth and knowledge says he's not going to Utd, so it's 'end of story'. :lol:lol:lol

If Sky Sports say the guy is questioning his future, then he is questioning his future - they're generally much closer to the mark than The Sun, that's for sure. He's not a very young player any more, so why should he be expected to warm the bench at Barca when he could be pulling the strings at Old Trafford?

We'll see, wait a bit. Rumours are that the bid should have been accepted as it triggered the release clause. So now we're trying to take them to court or something. Wouldn't that be fitting, signing Suarez in a courtroom:lol.

Something like Liverpool not understanding the terms related to the release clause and Suarez's agent is kicking up a fuss.

It would make sense, hence why Rodgers came out with his ?55 m or nothing stance, to scare people off the release clause.

Suarez clearly wants to leave though, he could hand in a transfer request. If Madrid come calling I definitely think he will.

You think he's worth the baggage he brings with him, don?

I'm surprised Wenger didn't try and get Benzema. Not sure how valued he is at Real but would have been worth an enquiry ahead of Higuain IMO.

Benzema is valued higher than Higuain at Madrid. He is seen as their first choice striker. No idea why, Higuain is more consistent and the better finisher. I guess Benzema is more Zidane's mini-me than anything else. Not only that though, Higuain wanted to leave as he was unhappy with his rotation role. Even though they were rotated, Benzema was still given preference to Higuain.

Is Suarez worth the baggage? I'm not so sure, a lot of Arsenal fans have big problems about signing him. The biting is despicable, but my main problem with him is the diving and his general scumbaggishness. He is not worth more than ?40,000,003 because of it, that and his ban at the start of the season.

I'm on the fence with him, IMO he was the best player in the league last season, I remember thinking he deserved the Player of the Year ahead of RVP and Bale. But I and others might have trouble getting behind him. However, on paper he would take us up a notch or two, we'd definitely challenge for the title with ease. In reality he could cause disharmony in the squad, someone like Koscielny was already public with how much he hates Suarez a few months ago.

Regardless, I think something will happen to screw the deal up as happens with all our supposed done deals. Even if he has a release clause, we'll somehow mess it up. So no need to worry about him coming to us in any case;).

There would be a slight chance that he would join Man Utd if it weren't for the clauses we put in there. It won't happen though because of those clauses.

I hope Man Utd keep going for him, it increases the chances that we'll get him.
