I wholly agree with Suarez if those promises he talks about are true. But he just has to understand that selling him to Arsenal is equivalent to committing suicide for Liverpool.

Also this quote was hilariously moronic from his part:

"They defended me [during the bad times], just like I defended them on the pitch."

Just hope Chelsea drop their pursuit of Rooney and go for Suarez instead - younger, on less than half of Rooney's wages, entering his absolute peak, etc.

Or PSG offload Ibrahimovic and sign Suarez. Uruguayan strike duo = PSG strike duo.. imagine that!

Or of course Real Madrid drop their shameless pursuit of Bale and go for Suarez instead :rolleyes

No it would be ridiculous to go to PSG. The only reason anyone would play for PSG is for the money, it's such a poor league.

At Arsenal he would at least get to play in the Champions League, but he'd still be nowhere near the title and have the British media hounding him. I think he's starting to realise that none of the Reals or Bayerns are interested.

I will say: Arsenal need Suarez more than Suarez needs Arsenal.

Can't wait to surprise everyone over the next couple of seasons.

"Nowhere near the title", we've challenged for the title every single season since we won the FA Cup except for the seasons after we've lost big players. It will be no different this season, this season we'd have actually brought in a huge player from elsewhere for the first time since Arshavin (and that was when we were failing in the league in January). We finished two points behind Chelsea last season, I'm not sure what makes them definites for the title all of a sudden while we are competing with Liverpool. With or without Suarez, we are miles ahead of Liverpool and Tottenham too when they lose Bale.

On your last point, in terms of this window I would agree, we have no world class options available other than him, Suarez could realistically wait it out another half season in the Liverpool reserves and earn a move to a bigger club, we'd still probably have trouble getting a world class forward in at least until next window.

In 5 of the 8 seasons since Arsenal won the FA Cup they've finished 4th. That is nowhere near the title.

PSG have a much better shot of winning the Champions League than Arsenal. No offence to any of the Gooners here. I like Arsenal, fyi..

08/09, 11/12 and 12/13 were the seasons after we lost big players and obviously struggled that I was talking about. We definitely would've won the title in 07/08 as well had it not been for that ---- from Birmingham breaking Eduardo's leg. Every other season we struggled with a lack of squad depth and maturity late in the season leading to collapses after we challenged for the title all season. These late season collapses are non-existent now, if anything we are much stronger at the end of the season in the last couple of campaigns. This isn't the same team from seven years ago in a lot of ways, and neither are we the same team from a couple of seasons ago.

In any case we have never made a signing like Suarez since Sol Campbell so long ago, so if it goes through you can expect us to be up there, it'll be obvious later in the season if you don't believe it now. The media has a vendetta against us and so because of that I can see why so many people find it hard to believe.

We are the only team in the top four with the same manager as well, that is important for continuity. Man Utd in particular will struggle after losing perhaps the best football manager of all time.

@Haarithan: We are dark horses of sorts due to how strong we are at home, but in terms of strength I agree PSG are much stronger than us. They are absolutely flush with forwards though, unless they get rid of both Ibra and Pastore I don't really see the point in them getting him. Seeing how Chelsea won the CL, we have every ability to do the same though. Let's not forget we beat perhaps the best team in club history back in 10/11 in the CL, and last season we beat Bayern. Both without parking the bus.

Ironically it's the 3000th day since Arsenal won a Major* trophy.

*some of my lads are getting worked up on this and they try to bring up the emirates cup into the picture lol.

Jokes apart, this year is Arsene wenger's best chance, in spite of all the incredible squad strengthening the top 6 have done this season and the rest of the teams also posing a solid threat and also the managerial changes among the rest. I'm sure He'd be willing to put on over his old foe Mou.

From the hindsight, they still don't seem to break the shackles on getting their transfer targets early, forcing the not too distant memory of panic buys they don't need and can't get rid of all over again.

Suarez thing is as ridiculous as Bale, imho they could get a lot out of 45m elsewhere they're willing to pay for him and avoid the off field problems he could pose, which is the last thing arsenal want to get a (no pun intended) bite of. He's a quality 'footballer' though, don't get me wrong.

I struggle to see what huge improvements the top 6 have made. Man City have signed a bunch of meh players, Spurs have signed players with their Bale money and are weaker, while the rest have brought in next to no-one.

And I wouldn't be surprised if getting Suarez would mean our business is done, I don't see any panic signings coming up. We've picked up a midfielder in Sebastian Perez on trial and a couple of forwards, maybe just some second rate defender and we'll be done.

Bale is just so ridiculous Tottenhum should just let him go now, just imagine the players they can get with that sort of money.

Have been hearing this quote way too often really. They can't get anybody of Bale's calibre to replace him immediately, and they'll certainly have to overpay for their preferred target, other teams would know that Spurs have the cash and that they would be desperate for somebody.

And Real won't most certainly pay the money immediately, it's likely going to be in installements, and in such a case, it's going to affect them badly to get a replacement.

It's not a quality vs quantity thing. I refuse to be drawn into how Arsenal's squad would weigh against the rest, but this is Wenger's best and maybe the last chance to break from the trophies jinx.

I'm not sure how you missed Chelsea. They have an active chelsea squad of players returning from loans in Lukaku, Piazon, De Bruyne and Essien, and also the arrivals of Schurrle and Van Ginkel, and not to mention Wallace, although he might leave on loan. But that is good enough depth to easily contend for the top 3.

Same with 'Pool. Hate to admit but they've built a better squad since January, not as threatening as Chelsea but good enough to push them up the table, even without suarez.

City have made smart moves, they've brought in consistent and experienced attackers who've only missed the limelight because of the Madrid-Barca stronghold in La liga. Jovetic is a quality signing.

Fernandinho might be a backup for the overworking Yaya toure but other than that, I wouldn't say they've brought in half decent players.

As usual the claims about their youth system is complete bollocks, would've wanted Guidetti to be promoted, which never happened, or even if he does get into the first team, he'd hardly appear for City.

United haven't made any major strides yet, and that might change, although that clearly doesn't put us in the same boat as arsenal.

I wouldn't even start on Spurs, unless they resolve the Bale issue, it's hard to see where they are going.

Manchester City John Guidetti struck down with mystery virus while on loan at Feyenoord - Mirror Online

Took him about 10 months to recover fully from that, and once he was back playing for the reserves, he got injured again, and is still injured atm... now tell me, how are we to have promoted a player that's basically been sick/injured the last year or so?

So finally we've dropped the Fabregas nonsense and apparently opened talks about Felliani. After the ?23m release clause has ended. Nice going, Mr Moyes.

Because Bale is a winger that scores a lot of goals and Suarez is a striker that scores a lot of goals.
