It's not a quality vs quantity thing. I refuse to be drawn into how Arsenal's squad would weigh against the rest, but this is Wenger's best and maybe the last chance to break from the trophies jinx.

I'm not sure how you missed Chelsea. They have an active chelsea squad of players returning from loans in Lukaku, Piazon, De Bruyne and Essien, and also the arrivals of Schurrle and Van Ginkel, and not to mention Wallace, although he might leave on loan. But that is good enough depth to easily contend for the top 3.

Same with 'Pool. Hate to admit but they've built a better squad since January, not as threatening as Chelsea but good enough to push them up the table, even without suarez.

City have made smart moves, they've brought in consistent and experienced attackers who've only missed the limelight because of the Madrid-Barca stronghold in La liga. Jovetic is a quality signing.

Fernandinho might be a backup for the overworking Yaya toure but other than that, I wouldn't say they've brought in half decent players.

As usual the claims about their youth system is complete bollocks, would've wanted Guidetti to be promoted, which never happened, or even if he does get into the first team, he'd hardly appear for City.

United haven't made any major strides yet, and that might change, although that clearly doesn't put us in the same boat as arsenal.

I wouldn't even start on Spurs, unless they resolve the Bale issue, it's hard to see where they are going.

Barry is horrible. I've seen very little of Fernandinho but I'm going to guess he's better than Barry so I hope he partners Toure.

Jovetic is quality but he has had problems. He is quite overrated tbh, he has massive potential but right now he is not an automatic pick for City and rightly so. He needs to improve, particularly his end product as he just isn't productive enough.

Negredo is very patchy and that is a worry. You can't have someone like that who will often go weeks without scoring. He might struggle to settle in at Man City and I can see Dzeko having a better season than him.

Navas is an out-and-out winger and could fit in well with strikers like Negredo and Dzeko at Man City. His chronic homesickness still remains a slight question, even if he has said to overcome it, and also you have to take into account last season wasn't his best. I'm a bit surprised he went to Man City hastily though and didn't hold out for a move to Man Utd - they would've been perfect for each other. He can do what Valencia does but he's actually good unlike Valencia. I think he can do well at Man City but he isn't going to be anything like 11/12 David Silva for example, he will be a solid player and not more.

Even with Bale, the main problem I see with Spurs is their lack of creativity. Who is going to create there? Dembele is allergic to any sort of end product, Paulinho is just an energetic B2B who will need to adapt to the league and Sandro is a destroyer. One of the least creative midfields in the league. Chadli can create but he is going to have to adapt as it will be a big step up from Twente to Spurs. The sad thing is Vertonghen is probably the most creative player in the team now not including Chadli:lol. They are still better than Liverpool though IMO, though I think they'll be close competitors.

I maintain United will struggle. They have a far below par team and the manager is a huge step down. Moyes could work out well, I just think he can't handle such a big club with so many egos. He is not Ferguson, without Fergie Man Utd wouldn't have won the title last season I am certain as the team just flat out lacked quality other than up top.

Now apparently Spurs are about to sign Capoue:lol. What the hell is going on there, do they feel they need to be the new Stoke or something? Are they going to play Dembele and Chadli on the wings with Sandro, Capoue and Paulinho in the middle?

You may have been joking, but you have a point. I don't see why Real can't spend ?50 m on Suarez if they're spending ?105 m on Bale.

Suarez is worth at least ?80 m if Bale is worth ?105 m. Only thing Bale has over Suarez is age really, and baggage, though I'm sure the baggage wouldn't be a problem for a club like Real.

It sickens me to see the direction football is taking. Bale is not worth more than ?50-55 m. What the hell even is FFP?

Manchester City John Guidetti struck down with mystery virus while on loan at Feyenoord - Mirror Online

Took him about 10 months to recover fully from that, and once he was back playing for the reserves, he got injured again, and is still injured atm... now tell me, how are we to have promoted a player that's basically been sick/injured the last year or so?

injured again? well that probably puts his city career to a close... unless Pellegrini actually wants to keep him once he is fit.

He's class and hope he gets fit soon.

Spurs should've signed Moutinho, offers both energy and creativity, they missed a great one there.

Cesc Fabregas says he is very happy at Barcelona and doesn't want to leave, pretty much ruling out a move to Manchester United. Now while I think Fabregas at United would have been a good move, you can't make a player go where he doesn't want to. Looks like Moyes has worked that out and has already moved on to other targets.

Gustavo seemingly on the move, he is "injured" for Bayern's game against Borussia Monchengladbach.

We really need him but he could be a good signing for a number of clubs, namely Man Utd too.

Transfer news: Luis Suarez hopes for 'friendly' resolution despite showing a 'total disrespect' to Liverpool - Transfers - Football - The Independent

"I don't feel that these are my last days at the club. I'm still enjoying being at Liverpool and the moments I'm experiencing with this club.

"I'll remember the day of my debut, and that I came here from Ajax with great expectations and then played some unforgettable games."

As someone mentioned on twitter, Suarez backtracks faster than Usain Bolt on steroids! :lol

Not the first player who's suffering from this increasingly developing injury named transferitis...

@Don - We didn't win by a couple of points, you know. I hardly think an eleven point gap can be wholly attributed to Sir Alex. ;)

Having said that, I'm not impressed with how Moyes is going about things so far - especially the Rooney situation. I can't ever see Sir Alex using such wording unless he was actively trying to encourage Rooney to leave. Maybe this whole idea of having a 'safe, long term option' could end up biting Man Utd in the arse. Perhaps we should've gone for Mourinho when he was obviously 'flirting' with the club; Utd are looking for another long term manager - such a thing isn't that common any more. I hope I'm wrong.

He would've signed up for Spurs if not for Monaco brainwashing him and Rodriguez into signing them up for their 'mega project'... quite simply the prospect of playing alongside the future arrivals of Falcao and co., always puts the odds over Spurs.
