Football Transfers Thread

Anyways it surprising that Chelsea are going for Eto! never thought that will happen when they had a close eye on other strikers who are aged about 25-27 but never thought Moruinho will risk the money on Eto.

Are you serious?! Mourinho would risk money on Eto'o?! And other strikers aged about 25-27? Such as? :rolleyes

The only striker in the age range of 25-27 linked with Chelsea is Rooney, who won't be sold to Chelsea.

And Eto'o won't be a risky signing, that's honestly a weird opinion.

Our once deadly duo are reunited again. :spy

Andy was the last thing Downing needed to send crosses to aaand the flip side has come true.

wish to see them relishing under Big Uncle Sam.

Not a bad transfer window you see, they let Cole go, which was a good thing in itself for him and the club, brought in 3 troubled guys from 'Pool, they've managed to ward off reading and QPR to bag in Razvan rat on a free, which is as good as it gets on bosman deals so they've found decent cover for their back line.

I reckon they've got a couple more adding up to the squad by the end of the month so not bad for a team that finished in the top 10 and they're but all happy hammers by looks of it.

Seems to me that Eto'o is better suited to Arsenal than he is to Chelsea. Walcott/Ox on the wings and Eto'o on the Center/right (in case walcott plays in the center) and you have a good looking front 3 there. But anyway, with Chelsea's attacking depth, he could easily slot in 20+ goals by the end of the season, he's a very very useful hack and Chelsea wouldn't mind spending that extra 5m on him. Always thought if not for the semi retirement Anzhi club, he would be in any other top euro squad.

You can never tell until the transfer window's shut.

He must have thought that trying to get his way would have him end up at Liverpool if Arsenal or anybody else backed off from paying the amount of money the club wanted for him which could put off any move he wanted.

If he ended up going nowhere he'd be certain to face the wrath of his own fans and considering he's already p1ssed, it's not the kind of support he'd want as a footballer. This drama's a bit like Odemwengie's, minus actually traveling down to the club to force a medical.

lol, ?40,000,001, always going to laugh at it.

Bale is better than Di Maria, thus he would start over him, and also, Bale chose to go to Spurs over United back when he was at Southampton, valued the playing time apparently.
Di Maria brings balance to the Real midfield that Bale doesn't, too many cooks spoil the broth and that.

Yawn, getting tired of this. I hope it's sorted out soon one way or another, for better or worse, so I can continue moaning about how poor Liverpool are.

This, glad that somebody else understands his importance.

We failed to sign a guy who made an appearance for us, so there's no way we'll sign someone like Gustavo or Suarez. I think the latter will have to stay at Liverpool.

Arsenal needs another goal getting machine and the choices which i think will be good is Lamela (might play as a center forward or on the wings) Luis Muriel (Scored stunners in serie a 15 appearances and 11 goals + 3 assists they are good stats and he is only 22/23. Also a target of David Moyes) Arsenal also need a much better defense we have seen them give away silly goals last season and the addition of a good center back and good right back, Rami who Wenger is actually targeting would be a good choice as a center back for a right back probably Abate would be a good choice for the job. Gibbs is ok where he is as he had a alright season. Watcha say theDon5?

It appears we haven't given up on Fabregas after all and are about to throw ?40m in Barca's direction. On the face of it, Fabregas wants to stay - but deep down, is he beginning to get concerned about how much time he'll actually get on the pitch? I think that's what Moyes is banking on.

If we do get him (which I doubt) and Felliani (which I can see happening, but we should've tied it up before the clause ran out) then I'd be happy to put the chequebook away. Felliani on his own wouldn't be enough, and no signings at all isn't acceptable when you look at some of the business the other clubs have done.

You've got an excellent finisher called Podolski, who unfortunately is not useful in any other way. (I'm looking at you thedon5):p

Defence is alright, is Miquel still with the club? If he is, you're set to go I guess. Right-back isn't the most problematic position either on the team.

Arsenal just need somebody like Van Persie to turn them into serious challengers.

Word now seems to be that Spurs could get something like ?74m in cash and Fabio Coentrao from Real Madrid in exchange for Bale. Not a bad deal, but then Spurs will need an attacker with that money before the deadline.
