Football Transfers Thread

He won't strictly play as a winger just like Ronaldo doesn't. He likes to drift in and will probably be interchanging with Ronaldo a lot during games as their relationship improves.

They will both have something along the lines of a completely free attacking role.

Bale won't be happy playing at right mid i can tell you that, his strong left foot will not be quiet useful on the right wing. Although Ronaldo will be a great choice to be put on the Right wing. And the Di Maria thing hmm Di Maria did say he is happy at Madrid and happy at the place he lives.. I don't think he will move this transfer window.

AVB deployed him on a free role all season, and particularly the right wing at the end of the season. I remember, he sent in an amazing through ball assist on the right wing against southampton (?), with his left foot. Also that lob to vertonghen from the middle, so he's pretty comfortable on any side.

Bale would be better on the right wing than the left, it makes better use of his shooting ability. He's obviously at his best in the middle though.

With Ancelotti's Christmas tree formation though he'll be on the right.

@singhb: Ever heard of inside forwards or inverted wingers?

What with Man Utd's lack of business, deadline day should be very interesting - I am sure we'll see a couple of fairly major signings before the window is done.

I hate this transfer market, mainly following milan and yet again Roma have been able to get one of our long time targets on a great deal because of the blundering management. fiorentina actually had to convince Ljajic to join roma because they were so hacked off with milan and he went for it, 10m is a steal for him.

It would've been a gentleman's agreement at best, Moyes was out of contract at Everton so it wouldn't have been like Rodgers's agreement I'd imagine.. Still poor form though.

I dunno, I find it a bit rich for everton to condem the whole practice of moving for your favourite players from your old club when they sanctioned a couple of signings from wigan for martinez.

If you think about it, Wigan aren't exactly in the same division as Everton... while Everton and United are.

And Spurs are holding talks with Ajax to sign Eriksen now!
