Football Transfers Thread

He won't go. I was afraid the deal would actually happen, I remembered what happened in the summer and realised it won't.

We had about 5-6 days left in the window. We started negotiating with Chelsea for a deal for Ba, and it looked like it was going to go through - until the last minute when Mourinho pulled the plug so that we'd have no time to get anyone else. I see the same thing happening here and Moyes is a lot more gullible and desperate than Wenger. It shows just how short-term and idiotic Mourinho is if he lets the deal go through.

We're only in decline because we need new players and the manager needs to settle in. While a lot of people might want us to do a Leeds, one decent transfer window and we'll be back where we belong.

One decent transfer window?

So you can get a whole new midfield and defence, replacements for the aging van Persie and the departing Rooney as well as a nice collection of squad players all in one window? OK mate:lol.

Mata's a Utd player, barring a disaster in his medical. :lol

OK then, two decent windows. Mata + some decent summer signings, or maybe even more January signings.

Hmm it wont happen

It will...

I don't want Mata to go to Utd. :noway

Never mind. I still don't think we'll finish ahead of your lot, not this season at least.

Not for that reason, I actually rated him as a player, and going to united just plunged those ratings ;)

I agree.

Mata is one of my favourite players in the league, his left foot is magic. If he goes to United that would admiration would plummet:(.

Can really see Man Utd finishing top four now...

Btw he's cup tied for the Champions League right?

Is Mata's transfer sealed yet?

This is rude if Mata goes to ManU. He was the best player of Chelsea on the last season..

Curse you, Mourinho. I'm cursing him damn hard..:mad

Really, you're right man.^ I hate him since he took responsibility of Real Madrid. He thinks himself "Special One or Happy One" by selling his best player? :mad
There are NO players in Stamford Bridge as consistent as Mata. And, he's selling him for 37 mil's. :facepalm

Btw, just saw our latest transfers from here. He sold young promising de Bruyne too..:/

Really..? Fans like you do my nut in, you know nothing about football.

How long you been a "Chelsea" fan? Since Roman came in I bet been to the bridge have you?

:cheers

Jose is god at the bridge, his decision is one we back, hasn't exactly got a bad track record has he.

What we as fans don't see is what goes on behind the scenes, we have a style of play and it's quite clear Mata does not fit in, I'm a big Mata fan, he hasn't played a lot this season but when he has he hasn't looked the same player.

Sometimes things have to change and this move is a good one for him and good luck to him, seems like a good bloke and who are we to hold him back, as a pro you only get a handful of international tournaments and this move means he has a chance of playing for Spain.

Not bothered about him going to Utd, can't help but think something else has been agreed, some clause where we have first option on Rooney or something like that.

Just can't see us selling Mata that easy, it's a good fee but money isn't really a problem is it for us, so their has to be something sneaky from Jose going on.

Anyway good luck to Mata, Utd have got a great player on their hands

It's all media hype from him. The truth is he's been out of it for a while, his whole time at Madrid was like that too. He just doesn't know what he's doing, all he has done is get Chelsea playing horribly boring football, he hasn't even gotten convincing results. he has fluked quite a few results against the lower teams.

What the fk are you talking about? :facepalm

We're having our best season in the league since we won it 4 years ago, we are in the knock out stages of the CL.

Boring football.:facepalm

How often do you watch Chelsea??.. I watch every game pretty much, yes we are no Barcelona, but we play some good stuff.

And in all honesty I couldn't careless about what football we play, if it brings trophies like his track record proves, how many trophies has Arsenals lovely football got you in 10 years??? :lol

Under Jose we will win things, that is not up for debate

I bet Chelsea will not win a single trophy this season under Mou selling mata is simply ridiculous that to for Utd.:rolleyes

Of course I watch Chelsea, I have seen more poor displays than I can count yet each time luck falls on their side and they get the points. Since when is getting to the knock-out stages of the Champions League difficult when Schalke, Basel and Steaua are the teams in your group?

Shall we look at net spend? Chelsea's success has been down to money alone and not any great manager. Anyone can spend money and assemble a title-winning team. All Mourinho has done in all his jobs is spend an absolute shitload of money to get his success, I consider only his CL win with Porto to be due to truly great management ability. He's an idiot, plain and simple.

If he's playing complete shit football after spending that much money, Chelsea should at the very least be convincingly heading for the title. It is horrible football to watch only brightened by players like Hazard who add a bit of spark. Benitez was playing much better football, so was Di Matteo after the CL win.

You are just a blind fan sucked in by all the media bullshit hailing the return of Mourinho as some sort of second coming.

Anyone other than Jos? trying to sell Mata would have their grave dug up by now. His word is authority. Fall outs and famous departures were not new in Mourinho's past tenures. He assumed a style for Chelsea, Mata doesn't fit his style so he's out; at a price. Nothing has changed about how he revamps his squad(s).

The deal's worked for Mou; He got rid of his man, he assumes United can't catch up to Chelsea and gets a neat ?40m to top it off. He IS strengthening United albeit indirectly by letting him go. It's only in the long run he's ever going to worry about it (or not). Fans? they'll be gutted for a while but they'd let a star go than Mou from 'bridge, again. They'll bash, buy and loot the transfer market again and find someone new to love. :spy

Also Mata's arrival finally suggests it's the end of the road for Kagawa. Unless he mends himself into a more central midfield type player or play second fiddle/out of position his stay is not guaranteed anymore.

Transfer news: As Juan Mata prepares to arrive at Manchester United by helicopter for medical, Chelsea turn attention to Mohammed Salah and Fredy Guarin - Transfers - Football - The Independent

Heli woo... that's signing in with some style.
