Whoever gets him, what a signing it will be. Evra, Cole and Kolarov/Clichy are crap and Azpilicueta isn't an LB. ?30 m is huge money for a full-back, but peanuts when you consider the team that gets him is sorted for the next decade and a half at LB.

I feel 30M is too much.. You can get Bernat/Alberto/Sandro/Rodriguez who can last just as long and are cheaper. Mind you , they are good.

If this is true then Shaw to Chelsea is a done deal.

I don't think a LB is a priority of ours, a CB to replace Lescott who's contract runs out this summer, a RB to replace Richards who's rumored to be wanting out and a CM to replace Rodwell who I expect to go on loan are our top priorities, but ofc, who knows what exactly our transfer budget for next season will be.

A bit harsh to call them crap. A crap LB would be someone like Paul Konschesky, Kieran Richardson.

Cole & Evra are top LBs in decline, but can still be useful in certain situations. Clichy & Kolarov is your typical modern full-back - great going forward, suspect defending, but they get away with their defensive flaws given they are very quick.

Cesar obviously is not a natural LB, but his versatility to play their so competently could see him follow in the footsteps of Lahm or Zambrotta who played on both flanks very effectively throughout their careers.

Kolarov is not quick, far from it, but that doesn't stop him from being a monster going forward, he's actually had a fantastic season, the real worry is Clichy, he's supposed to be the better of the 2 defensively and he's been pants, and he really offers nothing significant going forward considering he can't cross at all.

Yeah, my thoughts 110%. Clichy is fast and nothing else. Kolarov is great going forward but terrible in defence with no recovery pace.

I fancy Azpilicueta as more of an RB. He is definitely versatile, but Chelsea are lacking a proper LB and thus he has to play there.

Cole and Evra are well past it, especially Evra.

Evra is a strange on, he has probably scored more goals in this decline phase of his career, than during his peak years when you thought he should be scoring more goals. :lol

This is what got him to City.
