Football Transfers Thread

That's Lamberts career over then.

Exactly! He'll hardly get a game at Liverpool which would be a shame because he is a decent striker. but as War said he's a Liverpool fan so you can understand why he would make the move there.

I wonder if Potchettino will take both Lallana & Rodriguez (amongst others) with him to Tottenham...

On Sneijder, he was offered 90k p/w at Gala. Turkey has a tax deduction rate of only 15%, compared to England, Spain and Italy (45%).

Lambert and Borini would be more than handy third and fourth choice strikers for us. The 4mil fee is perfectly fine, and will be recouped through Aspas' sale anyway.

LoL at Davoo not wanting the best LB in the world btw. :p

Would happily take Filipe Luis over Moreno all day of the week. Mind you, Moreno is really good as well, but Luis is a different beast, even at 28.

Filipe is 28( Will become 29 in a couple of months) so that means CFC can get max 4 years out of him. When you amortize Shaw's and Filipe's transfer fees over their contract period, Shaw's is better from a CFC POV. Yes, Shaw is also really overpriced, but paying 30M for a player who will serve you for the next 15 years is better than paying 20M for a player who will serve you for the next 5. Same applies to Alberto, Telles, Adnan, Silva et al with Shaw having an advantage over them due to the HG status.

We have to believe that the club would rather pay a few more million for a left back with more than a decade left at top level, plus club-trained status and not to mention a sentimental connection to Chelsea on top of it all. Filipe Luis just doesn?t make sense.

The top teams should be all over Ricardo Rodriguez. His delivery is absolutely beautiful. He was absolutely outstanding this season. We will see him blow up at the World Cup.

Although age is a valid argument, but at the same time this isn't Fifa. If he can keep himself fit, he can surely have more than just those 4/5 years.

Do you think Jackson will be a good fit for Arsenal? He looks good from the couple of matches I have seen, but 3 matches is very small a sample. Similarly, what do you think about an Arsenal purchase of Lassana Diarra or Diame? I feel they need a tough-tackling midfielder next to Ramsey and apparently Lass has come leaps and bounds.

What you say makes sense, getting one of the world's best FBs for 19M is quite a steal, but CFC will have to replace him within 3-4 years anyway and will need to spend another 20M on his replacement. That is the thing that puts me off. Getting Filipe means spending 40M in total for the LB position within the next 5 years, getting Shaw will cost us 30 for the next 15 years. Moreover, unlike Shaw, Filipe cannot be sold either.

Vela is brilliant and had it not been for his earlier Arsenal spell, we and other English clubs would be all over him for ?25 m+. At his current price it'd be a crime not to activate the buy-back clause, even purely for making a profit. 16 goals and 12 assists in the league is not to be snuffed at, he and Griezmann have developed quite the partnership. He is clearly the better of the two.

Jackson is overrated after his first good Porto season, nowhere near good enough. Good in the air and average at everything else.

Lass isn't good enough any more IMO and he was really pissed off when we used Flamini instead of him so left quickly. No way he's coming back.

Diame is a donkey.

Many things were said, sometimes you think a lot and it hurts you when you are trying to always do your best for a club and then it comes out that you might be going to Tottenham.

:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

Note: This is taken out of context, mind you.
