16 million for chambers seems a bit mad.

I mean, he might be worth it, but last season he was just about 2nd choice behind clyne. i doubt clyne would go for much over 5.

Southampton obviously a historic selling club for obvious reasons, but they getting a bit ridiculous now with this potential sale. Although it could be argued that the players probably want to leave also.

BBC Sport - Calum Chambers: Arsenal set to sign Southampton defender

Not sure why Arsenal want Chambers, what wrong with keeping Jenkinson as baack-up to Debuchy?

Jenkinson needs first team experience. The other thing with him is that he was solid when given a run of 10+ games, but when made to step in for 2-3 games he was often very shaky. It could also be the end for him.

I think Chambers serves as a replacement for both Jenkinson and Sagna, with him replacing the latter's contribution as fourth choice CB of course.

Reminds me a lot of Phil Jones and Wenger really wanted him. He's also versatile, so will get game time in more than just one position, and we'll see where he best fits from there. I see him ending up as an RB or CB though, with his natural CM position perhaps less likely.

He's a good player with English tax added on to get it to around £10-15 m. There's no question he'll turn out a great player though IMO. Apparently we didn't need Theo or Ox either but in hindsight they were absolutely necessary.

Liverpool having a lot of players in this market surely now they are done

I don't know why they bought him, they're strong enough with Goetze(Earlier transfer)now. BVB was the only team who can beat them, now with lewandowski leaving, BVB looks small opponent for them. Reus should get a better call from a better club. :)

Okay, now it's definitely too much and there's nothing stopping them getting relegated. The manager should just shut doors to any club approaching his players now.

If for once after a long long time, that Liverpool can land a big player with big money, the whole club will be boosted with confidence.
His current deal still runs to 2017, but what BVB are obviously worried about is the release clause and they probably want it up in the 40m range.
