Gavaskar blames Chappell for India's downfall

I am not a fan of Gavaskar but he isnt a Idiot. What makes you insult a legend like Gavaskar who served our country better than the former coach. Did you forget all about Chappel's 'expirements' and his only answer to the losses were that it is a 'process' and the and goal is the World Cup 2007 and all that crap.
I know that the players have to play in the middle but why the hell did he make a mess out of them. For eg Pathan.
In the end Gavaskar is just making the point that Chappel isnt a good coach and BCCI is foolish enough not to realize that.

OK, I was kinda peed of when I posted that.
What I meant was Gavaskar is just shooting his mouth off a bit too much latley. He's was a fantastic batsman and a legend of cricket, and nothing that he nor anyone else does can change that.

Gavaskar has been speaking his mind, which is considered 'shooting his mouth'!!

Anyways, whoever the new coach is, he should be someone who makes the players comfortable. The Indian mental set up is that the players play well only when they feel comfortable mentally. The Chappell sort of 'dictatorship' did not work with the players at all. Cricket is also a mentally extensive sport. Chappell did not make the players feel comfortable and it reflected in their performances.

So the coach also takes a major blame. In India, coach is being considered influential to the team's performance and it will remain so.
