General Cricket Discussion

Cannot imagine Jay Shah doing this to Rohit Sharma though...would be fun if he does so!

So I'm sure some folks will have seen the extensive reporting on Canada Women selecting the first ever transgender international player. Huge congratulations to her, and a rare pat on the back to cricket's administrators for having policies that make this possible for her.

Of course, the elephant in the room is the inevitable "discussion" this can prompt. r/Cricket has been just one example of this, with members feeling that they "deserve a debate" on this "issue". Therefore, I would like to make a few things clear before they become issues here:
  • Danielle McGahey is a woman, and casting doubt upon that is not acceptable.
  • Danielle McGahey is also a human being.
  • Going out of your way to call her a "biological man" is transphobic, and not acceptable.
  • She is no more "taking the opportunity of a woman" than another cisgender woman would be. That's just how team selection works.

We will not tolerate any instances of transphobia relating to this or any other topic.

Thank you for your understanding.

It is so motivating... I also want to play cricket like this at that age...
