General Questions Thread

Your suppose to have those.. the amount of Financial Advisors should go with the amount of money you have. You should have 2 PR officers, and 2 SP's should be enough.

What Effine is saying is that because you are only allowed to have 10 net sessions, your 10 net sessions should be split between these 5.

Bowling Coaches:
Batting Coaches:
Fielding Coaches:
Wicket Keeping Coaches:
Fitness Coaches:

Number of PRs should go up with memberships. In practice it's not a huge amount of money each week, but it adds up.

For SPs, I've not seen good evidence for carrying less than 5.

And on a extra note, newbies are always suggested to go through the "Rules" from Battrick site and some newbie guides which are stickied in this forum. Those will definitely help you understand battrick better.
My mate is lazy. I doubt he'll wanna do that. :p

Also, before asking any doubts, you can effectively use the search button available here in our forums. Do use search button in future

He's a forum newbie, that's probably why. :p

Why are there waiting lists if there are so many bots?

I posted this on the Sledging boards and got no help so I am hoping that some of the wiser Battrickers can help me out!

Now this is a fairly big game for me. If I do fairly decent in this game it will prove to me that I am the real deal and I can fight it out for maybe a Top 2 spot and this is my opponent for this week's one day game:

His pitch is Dusty so I am anticipating that he has some good spin bowlers. I have two capable spinners in Shackell and Pearse. I do struggle on bowling pitches. What orders do you think I should set for my batsmen and bowlers. He is coming 1st (No duh!) and I am coming 2nd after I had a shock win in my first game and a big win in my second.

Any help is appreciated!

Plan A: Set your bowlers defensive, and try to take advantage of his seamers - find out where they bowl, and which batsmen are most likely to face them. Get a large score an restrict them, or tie them down and get off to a flier in the run-chase. Spinners are disadvantaged in the first 15, so you could tackle them then.

Plan B: Try and go for broke to dismantle that top order and hope you have to chase a small score. This could backfire with you needing a massive total.

I will set my bowlers on defensive. Should I set my openers to defensive so they can settle and play a big knock?

I don't really see how you can hope to just restrict his best two batsmen. You must either get at least one of them out cheaply or they will ruin you and make big scores. With some luck he will rest one for you. Pay attention to his first class match.

Let your batsmen play their natural game. Maybe just curb their aggression a slight bit...

If he best 2 batters are on their day they will score at a run a ball unless you have a bowler even to his batters skills.
