It was a truly fantastic race. I was a bit disappointed when Alonso's wheel nut flew off (it was kind of funny, though ;)) - but Schumi's vain attempt to keep De La Rosa behind was humorous (and he deserves to be penalized - a full-season suspension should do it :D). Great job by Honda (!!!) in this race. As Jenson said, it wasn't so much the car's speed as it was the team's great strategy.

what a race this has been.... Schumi was unlucky at the end!!! But this keeps the competition bw alonso and schumi still open i.e still both have a chance to grab the title of the season:D!!!

By far the best race of the season. Tough luck on Alonso and Kimi. :p

Well done to Jenson to record and overdue first win! Honda have done something right for a change.

Uhm, look at the replay, car next to you turn ahead of you. What can you do? Well turning into de la Rosa would have been silly wouldn't it? So he took the safe route and went straight he simply had no where to go, nothing wrong with that others have done it before and no one has complained. Either way de la Rosa got passed him and well thats what was supposed to happen. In the dog fight with trying to keep Heidfeld behind him, contact was made, unfortunately enough to mortally wound the prancing horse.

My personal thoughts is that whole scenario could have been avoided if they went to slicks, at the time of MS's pitstop Ralf was on slicks and set the fastest 1st sector, isn't that enough? I know the decision is upto the driver and race engineer, but they really should have made an effort to chage MS's mind for the tyre choice, although we wont know will we.

Alonso said it was driveshaft error.

@Max, no of course he couldn't turn into Pedro, but he gained an advantage from it as Pedro had overtook him and there was no reason why he couldn't slow down to let Pedro re-take him.

He almost let Pedro past the next corner but ran the risk of going offline, the crux is that Pedro got passed anyway, and why do you guys care anymore, big bad Ferrari and MS didn't finish anyway?

It's not the point though is it?

What if when Schumi parked his car at Monaco Alonso still got pole, he still should've been punished.

The point is, if there was a problem Ferrari would have told him to get out of the way and let Pedro through, or they knew he would get through very shortly and decided to let the race dictate what will happen.

I'd rather not go back to that incident too much, he outbraked himself turned left and then turned right. We don't know what he was thinking making the punishment pretty silly.

I still hate the bias shown towards Ferrari for being cheats after the era of domination. If Midland suddenly dominated everyone would forget about Ferrari and start criticising them constantly

What's the bias?

Ferrari have broken the rules several times.

From my POV it's got naff all to do with their domination of the sport.

See! It does matter now. Schumi got a point out of it all - a point that could be VERY valuable in the championship race. The FIA is always a bit protracted with these things, I'm sure MS will either be fined or have maybe a 1 or 2 spot penalty for the next race. It's a shame Kubica had to be too light, he looks to be a fantastic racer. Anyways, even though I'm nervous as hell right now about the championship (driver's that is - I'm resigned to losing the constructors thanks to Fisi ;)), I'm really looking forwards to the rest of the season. Should be even better than last year!

And just a thought - imagine Alonso and De La Rosa at McLaren together next season. That would be the coolest thing ever! 2 Spaniards on one team. McLaren would have about 45 million new fans :D.

Engine development is frozen for next season.

Which means the engine you start with is the engine you finish with. Don't like that.

Webber has joined RBR for next season.

M Schuey is a mega cheat which is why I can't stand him. Passing Rubens at the end although that was Ferrari's doing. Cheating at Monaco and now here. Can't see why everyone likes him :(

Here's a point/discussion.

Am I the only one here who thinks it's unfair that when Jensons engine blew he suffered more of a Penalty than when Alonso and Schumi broke the rules?
