Potentially the 2 second penalties could have been alot worse but they weren't simple, both MS and FA put in stella qualis to get as far as possible, otherwise the had a chance of not even making it out of the first knockout.

Engine development is frozen for next season.

Which means the engine you start with is the engine you finish with. Don't like that.

Webber has joined RBR for next season.

F1 is meant to be the pinnacle of motoring excellence, but all Max wants to do is to stop the teams spending and developing because he wants smaller teams to suceed. F1 is too expensive for small teams now, that's the reason why Jordan/Minardi were always at the back, they couldn't compete. Stopping mid-season development won't change a thing.

It'll make the racing worse imo.

Look at Ferrari, without the redevelopment they'd have been shocking this season.

Likewise McLaren.

Expensive ---- thts main issue in this lovely sport!!! Indian N.Karthikeyan (last year: Jordan) was unable to compete in this season becos of these financial issues!!!! He told this in a interview!!!

Also regarding small teams... Was Renault a big team when Schumi won his first championship title long years back?

Renault didn't exist as a team, it was Benetton one year with Renault engines and the other with Ford.

Yes back then Renault were just engine suppliers, the best engines as well. They were a team in the early 80's (and earlier) so they werent exactly newboys.

And we would've been looking at another season where one team/driver wins the majority of the events, which is appealing to nobody except that team and its fans.

And sponsors....

Webber to Red Bull, Good move?

I think RBR have done a great bit of business there.

Well, A) He wasn't excatly a stunning driver, there's much better talent out there (Speed and Liuzzi for example) and B) He was expected to rake in the cash in India with Jordan clothes etc, this didn't happen, and Midland decided to get better drivers and the financial benefits did not outweigh the racing ones.

Congratulations Kimi on stealing pole at Monza away from Ferrari.

Of course after tomorrow I suspect he will become the driver I hate the most though.

Why? :D Because he's joining Ferrari?

BMWs were class today and a good last few minutes to the session.

What do people think of the new Engine Freeze rule being brought in for the next 3 years?

Ie, when the China GP is over, that engine is the engine you use for the next 3 seasons without development.

I think it's a terrible rule that'll only make the gap between the front and back even bigger. It's 5 seconds a lap now, expect it to be 7-8 Seconds a lap next season.

FIA are quite clueless I feel.

Its quite possible the stupidest rule in the history of rulemaking. I've added it as a poll question to this thread.

Watch out for noobs called something like Little man, BE, Eccles, etc :D
