No refuelling. Good or bad?

Well, I think its fairly obvious that Alonso will be looking for a new drive next season, but where will he go? Renault and Ferrari are obviously big no-no's so I guess that leaves the other big money teams further down the grid, Red Bull is a possibility as is Toyota I suppose, replacing fat Ralf. As for a new team-mate for Hamilton, how about Dario Franchitti? As far as I know he isn't signed up to anyone state-side for next season.

If Alonso is not gone by the end of the season, I'll eat my cricket bat. He was a total d**k to Hamilton at the start of the Belgian Grand Prix. He could have knocked both of them out. Talk about sour grapes

No-one would care if it was Lewis doing it to another racer from another team, and would probably be called a fantastic aggressive manouvere. Lewis wont win the title, Trevor Nelson has ruined any chances of it happening by saying on some show on BBC3 last night that "Lewis will definetly win the championship". I'd love to see the lad win, but i think he'll buckle under the pressure of expectation. Still cheering Lewis on though :D>

I was reading in the paper today that Ron Dennis doesn't rate Jensen at all so Rosberg looks a better bet for MacLaren next season.

You forgot BMW. Especially if Kubica or Heidfeld (both of whom have already signed for next season) are bought out by Mclaren.

Red Bull is probably a huge possibility considering the fact they intend to fight for the title next season with a massive financial investment for the same.

There is the slight chance though that Alonso will remain at Mclaren, as he has the backing of the majority of sponsors, which would probably see Hamilton leave the team. (As impressive he has been this season, money and capital is crucial in Formula 1, and the Spaniard seems to be more profitable)

And it is believed the FIA spared Alonso and de la Rosa, because they themselves were willing to make the evidence available for the hearing.

Nah, he has NASCAR commitments and will almost certainly be in Indy too, aswell as occasionally racing in American le Mans.

I reckon Alonso will go to Toyota, they have the cash. And of course Red Bull have confirmed drivers for next year.

Prodrive? :D

Erm, what has he done exactly? There has been nothing to suggest Hamilton was in any way involved.

It's not just that, although it has been said that Alonso admitted to the FIA that he had received an email from DLR. No driver really cares about the Constructors over the Drivers, Alonso was just admitting that. The team have not made him feel welcome at any point, and although Alonso's behaviour has been very bad, he feels that the team is favouring Hamilton over him, thus skewering his chances of winning the title. He went to McLaren on the understanding that he would be No.1 and push McLaren's title charge. This hasn't been the case and Hamilton has been growing cockier and cockier all season, knowing that the British media has his back.

Hungary? Lewis' fault. Lewis has not got this great attitude everyone believes he has. He seems to have learnt little from Alonso in terms of setup, ever since Alonso kept his private Lewis has been dominated. Alonso will surely take the title now, barring any slip-ups, and he will have taken it despite all the controversy.

I agree to some extent. A lot of this does depend on the completely useless British media. All I see on the BBC's website (International version) is Hamilton, Henman and Andrew Murray!

Okay let's clear up a few things...

1) How was it Lewis' fault? That doesn't even make sense, Alonso cheated in that pit stop and was duly punished (I won't mention it being unfair in terms of consistency, aka, Monaco last year).

2) Alonso has always kept his setup private.

If Alonso wins this year it'll be another notch against the world of F1, I used to like Alonso, I had lots of respect for him, I don't anymore. I can't respect a cheat and someone willing to 'farm' their team out when they don't get their way. I couldn't care less if his career whittled out like a lame flame.

nice :D

i think alonso should stick around, maybe in a toyota?

Yeh, Toyota have the biggest budget in F1, depends if he wants to win the title or do a Villenueve and make the most money. Apparently lawyers are working to move Alonso out of McLaren after this season.

He'll still be in F1, where? I don't know.

lame flame - I thought about it for a while, then flame popped into my head and the lame bit came about a second later.

Wrong on both points. Lewis was told to go out on track after Fernando in the first place by Dennis for the shootout, due to fuel setup or whatever. He decided he'd rather go first. Alonso duly went second, took his pit, but the track was crowded when he was about to leave. It shouldn't have been had Hamilton not barged in front and messed with the strategy. He waited until track was clear, why should his run have been affected by Lewis being headstrong.

Alonso shared his setup with the whole garage prior to Hungary, then kept it to himself and his mechanics afterwards. Alonso is a fantastic talent, people forget this. I have a lot of respect for Hamilton, I just wish people wouldn't think he's the saint he's been made out to be. While he was in Paris on Thursday, Alonso was at Spa discussing the car setup and track with his mechanics. Alonso duly destroyed Hamilton come race day.
