Imran Kahn HANDS DOWN. For the better part of the decade, he WAS that Pakistan team.

His test bowling average is 37. That is not good enough with a batting average of 32.

I haven't seen Sobers play, but as of now Kallis has the edge over him statistically. Batting averages are equal, but with the ball Kallis averages less at a much better strike rate. Plus he's an excellent slip catcher.

I know stats are far from the whole story, so someone who has watched Sobers play can probably provide some insight.

Klusener fell off as an test all-rounder in the 2000s. Since i remember in the late 90s (96-99). Klusener was arguably the best test all-rounder in the game along with Chris Cairns.

Agree, but he's not one of those players if you mention your first thought is 'He was a great-allrounder', but 'One of the greatest finishers in ODI'

Sir Ajit Agarkar, without a shadow of doubt.

Worst thread ever coz Garry"I'm not only one of the greatest batsmen but also worst bowlers ever"Sobers (2.56 wickets per match with a S/R of 90+ puts him in the league of Sami,Agarkar etc) was hardly an allrounder.
Anyway,my ranking:

1.Imran Khan
2.Keith Miller
3.S.A.Faulkner
4.Richard Hadlee
5.Shaun Pollock
6.Garry Sobers
7.Kapil Dev
8.Ian Botham
9.Wasim Akram
10.Allan Davidson

Yes,I believe A bowling allrounder>>A batting allrounder of same class

You're being biased coz its Sir Muhammad Sami.

An interesting post I came across CW once. Who would win in a match between a team consisting of 11 Sobers' and 11 Imrans. The battle between the Imran bowlers and Sobers' batters would be riveting. While the Imrans might have the edge on batting against the Sobers bowling, they would more than make up for it in the field (excellent fielders at any position).

Personally it has to Sir Richard Hadlee,or Sir Ian Botham, theres a reason they got knighthoods.
Ian"Hit & a miss"Botham was knighted because of his social work(for cancer patients),not for his services to cricket. And there is a handful of allrounders who were as better compared to Botham as Bradman is to 2nd greatest batsman ever but were not knighted e.g Imran Khan,Keith Miller etc.

When allrounders are judged, only their batting & bowling is taken into account. If that was not the case,Imran would've been light years ahead of others coz of his excellent captaincy.
