Group D - 10th Match NZ v SA

Another massive top edge, start the game with one and we basically end it with one. Scotland's bowlers just need to keep their cool and they have this in the bag.

McCullum
Taylor
Franklin
Oram
Guptill
Ryder

My order.

What a start to this Twenty20 World Cup. New Zealand got the batsmen to chase this, but they'll be needing to score more then 13 runs an over.

7 over games should never be allowed. 20/twentys are short enough.

I'm confident we can chase it. The pitch is a belter. Why we didn't bat first i'll never know? The bowlers aside from Butler were horrid. Need Vettori back badly.

I was quite disapointed with the decision off Franklin's first ball. There was an edge which wasn't given out. On replays I heard a distinct noise. But oh well. Simple fact is our bowling was poor.

I doubt we'll get as much luck as Scotland. Any edges we make will be onto the stumps/to the keeper. Chances are we'll need 10+ off the last over which we'll screw up for sure.

Imagine that, two matches, two associate wins. Who says Scotland aren't a good team. :S

Hasn't happened yet. Plus it's a 7 over game. Scotland chances are aren't a good team. Being 7 overs just means the luckier side wins. Whoever gets the most edged boundaries etc.

Maybe we should let Scotland win so we can try knock out South Africa.

Three wickets in a row. Scotland doesn't deserve this. It became 89-4 eventually. It will be a tough chase.

I thought I heard something on the Franklin first ball but there wasn't a confident appeal so guess it was some other noise.

Yes it was, the keeper was sure of it - he was already running the the bowler after taking it it was so obvious. Bad umpiring. If that costs us the game i'll be fuming.

Watching some of this bowling again, it's all either half volleys or short balls. Gives it to any side on a platter to slog. I could have hit sixes off that rubbish. Honestly, where is Southee? Where are our proper frontline pace bowlers? Franklin's an all-rounder, why's he opening the bowling. O'Brien is a test specialist, why's he in the squad. Not one yorker bowled is a disgrace.

90 in 7 overs is do-able. 12 an over with 10 wickets for only 7 overs is still pretty even in my opinion. It just should never have been that many and now since it's 7 overs and all pressure is on us, anything could happen. Down to luck now.

maybe just lost our heads a little, but what can you do, coetzer made the right decision to try for 6 off that ball, it wasn't that great. the run out, well, we had a ton of wickets and 2 balls, worth a try. would have liked to see the last one disappear.

oh well, job to do. we didn't bowl too badly in the warm up game against england. one good or bad over basically changes everything though. mccullum will chase anything wide in this situation so pitch up and give him plenty of width, he'll do the rest.

do not bowl no balls or wides, do not bowl on the legs of mccullum and we might do this.

damn, just noticed no Haq in the line up, he bowled really well against england.

That'd be the part where I said "imagine that", or "imagine if that happened".

Plus it's a 7 over game.

It's still cricket, it takes skill, Scotland just took their chances well.

Scotland chances are aren't a good team.
Who gives a toss, it's still runs on the board, also, the ":S" was a slight uncertainty. Also what at bold?

Whoever gets the most boundaries etc.

Fixed.

Maybe we should let Scotland win so we can try knock out South Africa
"Yes...that was our plan the entire time. Honest." :p

Let me rephrase my post; If Scotland were to win, would it be correct in me saying that it would be two Associate wins out of two?

Atleast Southee can get it in the tweaking block hole.

No, not the whole time, but now we've got ourselves into this mess, maybe giving Scotland a nice NRR and us beating South Africa by a bit might be fun times.
