Bad luck Scotland, just not enough experience to finish the Kiwis off. Far too many sitters dropped and you can't afford to bowl no balls in a 7 over match.

Mills is out for the Kiwis, Ryder has a niggling injury but will be fit. For NZ sake it would be better if Ryder was out injured.

Not in 20/20 cricket he isn't. I would take McCullum, Guptill, Taylor, Franklin and Oram before Ryder.

I actually wanted Clarke dropped and even had Ponting dropped from my ideal T20 side so yes I would drop a player if they aren't performing in a certain form. Both have at least proven themselves in the warmup, can't say the same for Ryder.

Guptill better open today, can't have Jesse Ryder farting around at the top of the order today.

I would open with McCullum and Taylor then have McGlashan/Guptill/Franklin in after that.

Yep, think it sums us up really.

Was the most horrid game of cricket i've ever seen. 90% of the bowling was pie chucking. Butler was decent, and the Scotland spinner did a nice job, makes me wonder why McCullum didn't bowl his brother. The batting was ugly, skied balls etc.. We did bat well and Scotland weren't disciplined enough. We out played them and in the end, with 1/7th of the overs remaining and 7 wickets in hand, was comfortable as you could probably get in 7 overs chasing that score.

Ian Butler is probably the only bowler to ever go for over 9 runs an over and get MotM. Don't see that ever happening again. I thought Ryder deserved it for getting us off to a good start. Butler was a shining performer though so he's not totally undeserving.

If we want to win this thing, we need to put some more work into the bowling. It wasn't up to scratch. Was a perfect time to pull out the yorkers but it never happened.

Very glad he proved me wrong. Need much more of that from him, he shouldn't be bowling though a bit of a pie chucker in this format still.
