There is no evidence whatsoever to support that argument, and anyone who believes it is rather gullible considering the weight of evidence against it.
I don't want to bring this up again, but let's state some plain facts, shall we?
#1: There was not enough evidence against Harbhajan in Australia of racial abuse to punish him. And until proved guilty he is innocent of that. But he was still punished for his bad language.
#2: You've clearly seen how the BCCI can take action against a player once there is clear evidence against him. It has nothing to do with
India vs. Australia and everything to do with the mechanism of delivering
justice no matter how big or small the crime. On this occasion the evidence was overwhelmingly clear. Racialism is a very serious charge to make, no matter who the individual is.
#3: Harbhajan has been punished now for his offence. And there is still possibility of more punishment. Nobody can now complain that the BCCI has swept it under the carpet.
#4: Of course, in retrospect we Indians feel let down by Harbhajan Singh because of his uncouth on-field behaviour and his lack of discipline. But you cannot have blamed us for standing up for him earlier in the Sydney episode because we
still don't have any audio evidence he actually used the word "Monkey" on Symonds.
Let me make it absolutely clear that I have never been a Harbhajan fan, before or after the Sydney episode.
