Harry Potter 7 spoiler thread - DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS

I'll merge this into the other thread after a week or two when people have had a chance to read it.
I've just finished reading it and I have to say I do feel satisfied (although it did get a bit CS Lewisy at the end).
I'm also pretty pleased that a lot of my predictions pre-release were correct - especially with regard to Snape. The ending wasn't as bad as I had been led to believe; I guess I was expecting one of Harry/Ron/Hermione/Ginny to die whereas, with all respect to Tonks, George and Lupin, their deaths didn't have quite the same emotional impact. Sad to see Hedwig and Dobby die though!
Looking forward to actually getting my hands on the book so I can re-read it in comfort rather than have to squint at the computer screen. Anyway great read and I certainly don't feel let down in any way by the book.

And my guesses are:

1) Harry is a horocrux
2) Harry doesn't die
3) Snape dies
4) Dudley/Figg/Flich does magic
5) Voldy's points of the time-turners and Dumbledore's brother.

Scary...
1) correct
2) correct
3) correct
4) not quite but there is an unexpected bit with Dudley
5) No timeturners but definitely some action from Dumbledore's brother.

For anyone who wants to see some fake spoilers and laugh at them, these are all total rubbish... :p

If you want to, its your own choice and i have no problem with it, but personally, i dont agree with searching the internet for spoilers...whats the point, it spoils the excitment of reading the actual novel.

I only searched for spoilers after I had finished reading it ;) Just to clarify, I've read the whole book from cover to cover not just some random spoilers...

How? Its not even out yet...do you get it early because of your position at a school or something?

@ Colin, if Zorax's first and second guess are correct, (Harry is a horcrux but doesn't die), does that mean Voldemort is not completely vanquished??

Voldemort is completely vanquished but Harry has to give his life in the same way Lily gave hers.
He then uses the power of the Hallows to beat death and return to kill Voldemort. Hallows > Horcruxes.

Hmm...I knew Rowling wouldn't be so predictable.

Care to describe the early friendship Dumbledore and Grindelwald (and their early wish to take over the muggle world)??;)

EDIT: This quote by Skeeter I find highly ironic:
Rita Skeeter said:
"Now, come of it, Betty. I am not giving away all the highlights before anybody's bought the book!"
:p

They were friends as 18-year-olds - both in search of the Deathly Hallows and supporting the idea of Wizard-kind ruling over muggles. After the death of Albus's sister Grindelwald fled.

After the reading the first 10 chapters, I couldn't resist having a sneak peek at the end. And learned a lot from that 20 second peek. :p

But one thing that occurs to me is the fact that the "Expelliarmus" spell is quite significant in the plot, would you like to elaborate Colin? :p
