Hindi Cinema Discussion

Lovers of hardcore masala music will surely love the songs of "Rowdy Rathore". I like the songs (though some are literally lifted from popular South hit songs). A perfect album to scorch the charts for a good amount of time. "Chinta Ta Chinta" is going to be a huge chartbuster, but my personal favorite is "Chammak Challo Chel Chabeli" by Shreya Goshal and Kumar Sanu. Beautiful and romantic song! :cheers

Good fun album for a brief time!!!! Do listen to it.... I think guys like Yudi, Rohit Doshi, etc will probably love it (if I can predict their tastes/likes correctly)

Chinta Ta Chinta is the only song from Rowdy Rathore I have heard so far and the music seems to be catchy. :yes

Can't believe people are wasting their money on Hate Story and Vicky Donor. The Avengers is out in theater, if you are forgetting it.

I have heard pretty good reviews for "Vicky Donor". I am waiting to catch it when the DVD comes out.

Listen to "Aa Re Pritam Pyaare" and "Dhadhang Dhang". Good masti numbers!:yes

When was Avengers out? The just went Friday right? Then how can people watch that when Vicky Donor and Hate Story were release 2 weeks before it :rolleyes

If those two were release before people will obviously see that and take Avengers to Hollywood movie discussion thread ;) :wave

Don't know about you but I'll definately prefer saving money on these two for watching Avengers. Ofcourse if you go every week for a movie then it doesn't apply to you ;)

I just listened 'Aa Re Pritam Pyaare' and sorry to say that I did not like it at all. Hopefully 'Dhadhang Dhang' won't fail to impress me.

Not strictly a movie, but does anyone have an opinion of the 1988-90 series of the Mahabharat? If you've seen the Peter Brook movie version, I would be interested to know how they compare.

Personally I found the Peter Brook movie to be very special at the time. However it does strike me that 6 and a bit hours might not be long enough to do justice to such a very long - and important - epic.

If there is no English (subtitled/dubbed) version of the series, it's a moot question as far as me watching it goes, but I'm still interested.

(IMDB also mentions a 2001 mini-series, but the user reviewer says that it was unwatchable)

I am personally a very big fan of the 1988-90 Mahabharat series (the one produced and directed by B.R. Chopra). Its an excellent series, and the production values of the series are magnificient considering the period in which it released.

You can watch the entire series here (with English subtitles)
Mahabharat - YouTube (By Rajshri)

There are a total of 94 episodes. Start from Episode 1 because its really interesting from Ep 1..

So, 'Department' gets released....and one reviewer rightly phrases it as -
RGV fails in all DEPARTMENT.....:lol

I've never watched RGV movies. How lucky I'm!

Watched Avengers last week. I loved the scene where the villain as I'm God and Hulk smashes him on the ground thrice. Funniest scene of the movie.

I don't like item songs normally but for some reason I'm liking Aa re pritam pyare from Rowdy Rathore. Won't be watching the movie though. I think I've had enough of Wanted, Ready, Dabangg and Singham types of mind-boggling fight scened films.

Saw Rowdy Rathore. Loved it. Want to go again. Absolutely ridiculous movie, but that's why I liked it.

I had the grave misfortune of watching it in three different languages. Two times I was forced (for the Telugu version, and the current Hindi version).

I thought Akshay suited the role and bits and pieces of the first half were entertaining, but again a film that doesn't suit Bollywood. But Bollywood is continuing to surprise us by welcoming South Indian spicy masala with very open arms. They are craving for films that have been staple diet of South cinema for decades now. And Rowdy Rathore is another blockbuster hit....

P.s: Sonakshi was smokin' hot though... Might be developing a crush for her.. :p :D

Not wanna harm your feelings but I feel Sonakshi is one of the most unattractive girls to have entered Bollywood recently. :)
