Just learnt that all the animation and special effects of Avatar was done in India. Why the hell can't they do something similar in Indian cinema!

No producer is interested in risking that much money may be.

Take Ra One as an example, lots of money and a big flop.

Bollywood audience want a bubbly film with a love story. And you have a hit. When you have a money making formula why waste it and experiment.

It will take some time for such movies to be made on a regular basis. Bollywood's market has to widen for movies to make 100+ crores on a regular basis, and costs of making such movies should come down so that the chances of such films making money increases. RA-One was made on around 125 crores, but it just about made 100 crores or something at the box office, and so was declared a flop. If it had costed 80-90 crores to make RA-One (or if the movie had earned 150 crores), it would have been an above average grosser or possibly a hit. So either the market has to expand or the costs have to go down. That will take some time.

But to be very honest, I would rather spend all that effort in making a movie with a solid story and screenplay (and with great performances). An Avatar is just eye candy, with a dull/boring and not so interesting screenplay. It ran purely for its special effects and technical wizardry.

Just waiting for my finals to end and then I will jump right onto all the movies that I have missed. Barfi, JTHJ, SOS, Talash.

P.S. Bipasha looked hot in Raaz 3. Especially in that solo song of her, I was like shietttttttttt

Came across a news stating that a Hindi version of a south Indian movie will be made which stars Raghu Lawrence in the original movie. He, most probably, will be retained in the Hindi version as well. It is said to be a comedy and horror (at the same time) movie. I wonder if its the movie in which a man residing in slums is killed by a minister and his spirit gets into the body of a coward-some Raghu Lawrence and takes the revenge from the minister.

Yes... You're right. That movie name is "Kaanchana". In fact, Lawrence was in talks with Salman to do that role done by himself in the original, but Salman it seems has declined.

Its actually a decent entertainer. However, Lawrence doing it himself in Hindi won't do any good. Hope he finds a good star to do the film. Lawrence will sound very South Indian'ish with his Hindi (he spoke a few lines in the original too and it was so funny!). Akshay or Hrithik would be awesome. There is another important role of an eunuch who dies and whose spirit enters Lawrence. For that eunuch role, Sanjay Dutt would be perfect.

I've watched some parts of that movie (till Rajnikanth's head appears before a retarded acting girl :p) and it looked pretty good. If I'm not wrong, Akshay Kumar will be featuring in the movie. Not aware what role he is roped for though.

Any idea what happened to the idea of Hindi remake of this movie?

There are two films in the series. Muni - 1 and Muni 2.

The director is now doing another sequel called Muni 3. Only after the completion of the film, he will think of remakes.

So, its the same director that did the original films will be doing the Hindi version of it. Good thing that as that director would know what exactly he wants from every actor that will be a part of the Hindi remake.

I saw 'Oh My God!' today. What a movie. One of my favorite Bollywood movies ever. Great message. I think everyone should watch this.
