Hindi Cinema Discussion

Akshay cant act.... Give him a Chak De/Swades or a Taare Zameen Par/Lagaan, and watch him make a huge mess of it. Hell, he cant even do the roles which are the best of Abhishek or Hrithik.

Shahrukh can do good roles. Its just that he does them very rarely. Chak De, Swades and Rab Ne (the Surinder character) were the best ever of him. If he can do more of those, he can also be considered a very good actor. Aamir is ultimate. Can do anything! Hrithik is good, but the guy's ridiculously wasting time sitting and listening to scripts. Abhishek hasnt touched that level yet.

Akshay may not be able to do serious films, but heck, he'll be one of the greats in terms of comedies. Some great examples are Singh is Kinng, Bhool Bhulaiya (My personal favourite), Bhagam Bhag and Hera Pheri.

I didnt find Singh is King funny at all.. Akshay's best was obviously Hera Pheri (Paresh, Shetty and Akshay rocked) and I liked Garam Masala with Akshay and John, but the rest were just OK. 'Hey Baby' was the worst! Akshay is too slapstick. Aamir is the best in the sense that he can crack you up with some really humorous dialogues. Only thing is, it could take you a few seconds for the humor to sink in before that smile comes out.

Even Ranvir is pacing to that level very rapidly.Ofcourse Iam not talking about the perfectionist(level) Iam talking about chocolate boy character

Blue is coming on TV this month :laugh

Akshay's one of my favorite actors, personally. Might not be able to do serious roles, but who gives. He pulls off the comedic roles so well.

Aamir Khan?!

SRK, Aaimir>> The rest.

Hrithik's a good dancer but his acting isn't really up to standard of the elite actors of bollywood.

Akshay Kumar is defo. one of the worst, overhyped actors in the industry.
Acting not upto the standards? Dude come on. Go back and watch Mission Kashmir, and to some extent Koi Mil Gaya. ;)

Akshay is stupid. He gets these big budget films like 8x10, Blue and makes a gigantic mess of it. Stick Hrithik in Blue, or even a guy like Farhan Akthar and it would've been sweet.

Bhool Bhuliya was NOTHING compared to the original, tamil version of Chadramukhi. That is by far one of the scariest, best movies I have ever seen.

I was a bit harsh on Hrithik, yeah. But I don't think he's in the top bracket of pure actors, like SRK and Aamir. But Koi Mil Gaya made me laugh so hard.... I don't know why B'wood film directors always choose the super buff guys to play the role of the mentally handicapped person :p.

Back to Akshay - his voice really annoys me. He can't deliver the dialogues well.

I was mainly talking about this performance here :

Of course the entire movie was great too. If you don't think Hrithik acts well, please watch this.

I can see the old time charm in Ranbir. I am not sure if he can handle yet the mature roles like Chak De, Swades or Taare Zameen Par but he can handle those 'Raj, Rahul, Aryan' roles with great aplomb. He dances really well (though he is not a Hrithik or a Shahid) and he can do comic roles really well.

@ Rohit: Hrithik was amazing in 'Koi Mil Gaya'. The kind of geniune childishness he brought to the role was great. Esp. the scene where he is hit by his seniors and then he comes back home and cries in front of the Krishna idol.:clap Also Shahid is one of the best in recent times. The guy can handle many roles well. Kaminey showed him differently, Jab We Met and Vivah were classics.
