Hindi Cinema Discussion

The trailer of "We are Family" looks really good. Its my kind of a film (loads of fun, with some melodrama and emotions mixed in). Kajol and Kareena together look pretty good (though Priyanka would have been better for Kareena).

YouTube - We Are Family - Theatrical Trailer

The best part of the trailer is at the end when Arjun Rampal with his dead pan expression says to his kid "Eat your fooddd....". This is an official remake of "Stepmom". Having not watched the original, I think I will enjoy this film. Waiting eagerly!

btw, i finally saw raavan and quite liked it really.
though the first half is a bit disappointing...it catches up post interval.

Thats surprising, jk that you liked 'Raavan'. Maybe you might have read so many negative reviews that you went expecting the worst ever?:D

Anyone seen 'I Hate Luv Storys'? How is it? Want some fun movie for the weekend.

@Saisrini: The trailer looks good. I'll definitely see it as well.

What about I hate Luv Stories? Has anyone seen it yet? I might go and watch it in few days.

EDIT: Sai beat me to it! :p

I saw I Hate Love Story and it's another much hyped film but will do mere averagly on screen.

My ratings

3/5 for humour
1/5 for story
0/5 for Imran Khan he is ████ :p
5/5 for Sonam she looks very cute

overall 2/5 :)

'I Hate Luv Storys' is not as hyped as some of the other films this year. I havent heard as much about the film as a Raavan or a Kites or a Raajneeti. From the outset, IHLS was promoted to be a candyfloss film which takes complimentary and sarcastic digs at the eternal love stories that Bollywood has dished out. So most of them know what to expect. Though I am not too fond of Imran Khan. The guy looks too soft but his voice is too earthy. It doesnt match his personality. He looks wooden for being an actor. Sonam is the saving grace

Waiting for a good print of the film to hit the net (here in my place, even Aamir Khan movies dont get released in theatres, got to drive 1.5 hrs to watch his and SRK films in theatre).

My family forced me to sit and watch 'Housefull' with them today. Must say, the movie was not as bad I thought it to be but it was very average. Another rip off from a Tamil film, Kamalhaasan's "Kadhala Kadhala" (Akshay has got a new liking for remaking Kamalhaasan's comedy Tamil hits these days, he did it with Kambakth Ishq too). The climax with the laughing gas was an unintentional comedy in that while the scene was on, no one from our family laughed (watching with pin drop silence) and after the whole drama was over, we all burst out laughing seeing the way we all were so quiet during that supposedly "ROTFL" scene.:D Deepika was hot, man! WOW! Wish I get a girlfriend like that.

Deepika is very below average looking girl in real life. ;)

I'm waiting with bated breath for "Red Alert: The Terror Within", a movie depicting the Maoist movement active in India. Albeit being a low profile film, the trailer looks mindblowing, and I'll be surprised if it fails to do well at the box office.

Dhoni ditched Bollywood girls for girl doing Hotel Management. Guess he getting into restaurant business as well. :p

I hear very bad reviews of IHLS from my friends who have watched it.

Watched IHLS yesterday. I'd give it a 7.5/10. I haven't watched a Hindi movie in the theater for a while, too, though.

It had some pretty good dialogue and had me laughing for most of it. It was kind of a parody movie making fun of the standard Bollywood love drama while being a romcom. I'm sure the director knew what he was doing (making fun of his own film during it) but it's probably gone above the heads of most viewers.

The only issue for me was that it seemed long. It was a shade about 2 hours but I felt like I'd been sitting in the theater for about 3. If they'd cut it down 15-20 minutes it would have been perfect.

Childhood friend who studied in the same school, it seems. Thats what the media says (although Dhoni is 28 and that girl is 23 and dont know how they became friends during school:laugh ).

Anyways, its good that the guy completed his marriage without much of hype and frenzy. Engagement and marriage happened before anyone could even notice it.

SaiSrini added 1 Minutes and 23 Seconds later...

Any link to trailer? Is it a thriller film? I like many films in India that dealt with terrorism. The story is gripping most of the time, and thats what I like.
