How are you doing in ICC? (any version)

Just finished 2008 season with Sussex. 2nd in the Championship again. 3rd in Pro40 (2nd last year), QFs of T20, losing my title and was 5th in South division in the Challenge Trophy.

I was fairly happy with that record, obviously would have liked to have done better in the first half of the season, my form in the 2nd half was very good, albeit losing my first 4 Pro40 games, then winning the last 4!

Arafat was excellent, averaging 20-22 in all formats, scored 4 fifties in the FC too. Komasura was a very good spinner, I was pleased with that signing. 4 batsman past 1,000 runs. Goodwin, Yardy, Montgomerie and Prior. Winston, my youth opener, got 980 from just 10 matches, averaging 70, 2nd best in the country after Phil Jaques.

Bowling: I got all bonus points available for bowling, so I can't complain about that. Impressive in the OD competitions too.

Transfer window:
Cork and Kirtley retired. I expected Adams too, but he didn't, I re-signed him for 1 season, he only averaged 32 in 2008. Van Jaarsveld, Klokker, Turk and Linley were released. Waters (RMF) came in, as did Garry Park who has had two excellent seasons as keeper, averages mid 40s. Swann came in too, to give me a second spin option. Rayner just doesn't do quite enough, yet. Also brought in 2 youth pace bowlers.

I'm surprised you let Jaarsveld go. I've had him at Yorkshire for the last 3 years and he's a strong middle-order batsmen in any form of the game. Averaged close to 50 in the County Championship and close to 40 in one-dayers. Goodwin has been my captain since about 5 years and though he's now 38, he still continues to be the talisman, ever since Lehmann retired.

I did give him a few chances, but the budget was tight because our performance wasn't as good as last seasons. He got a couple of decent scores in OD games, averaged about 20 in 5 FC matches. Just thought I could spend my money better else where. With Garry Park I think I have a better player. Plus Redfern was scoring hundreds for fun in the 2nd team at the end of the season.

Decided to load up ICC3 on my dads computor, and just finished my first county season as Nottinghamshire.

Challenge trophy-I played well throughout and made it into the semi finals. I played a good semi final game but Kent chased it down after poor bowling from my Seamers.

20/20 really was a shame. I dominated the entire group stage not losing a single game. And getting a few 180+ scores. In theSemi final game my team collapsed only getting score of 104:mad:

Pro 40 I did well in coming 2nd in div 1. Not sure what else to say about it.

The CC i also did well in, coming third in the 2nd division. Just missing out on promotion. Bilal Shafayat scored the most runs at 1752 @ 72.56 average. Scoring 7 50s and 7 100s
Bowling failed miserably for me. with the lead wicket taker being Andrew Harris, taking only 43 @ 41.43:(

Short version
CT-SF
20/20-SF
Pro-2nd
County- 12th.

I'm shocked your highest wicket taker over a season only had 52 wickets.

Just started the 2010 season with Sussex. Monty, Adams and Goodwin all retired. Arafat and Komasaru were unavailable to be signed as overseas players. Goodwin scored over 3,000 runs in all comps in his last year. I brought in quite a few new players. Ryder and Herath are my new overseas players. Herath (SLA) is doing an excellent job, Ryder is doing very well in the OD game. My best OD batsman, not quite established himself in FC with bat or ball. I also signed: Ben Harmison, Alex Chai (A youth opener, doing decent), Naqaash Tahir. Quite a lot of changes.

The challenge trophy is going well, look like I can defend my crown if I win my last game. FC, I'm about 6th. Mainly due to my seamers (barring Davies) not getting wickets. I always play 2 spinners, Swann has been excellent, averaging late teens in both formats. But Davies just broke his arm when batting, out for most of the season, might be back for last 2/3 games in September. I've brought Huw Waters in, just about performing, but Davies was excellent. Tahir isn't doing much. Will try a young seamer in the T20.

I signed Pettini for the 2nd season so I dropped Pyrah to number 6 and he's doing great there. Really impressive start to the season. Rashid has really become great in the 2nd season, with the bat and ball.

That's a good question and I was expecting it.

The things with my team is there's no single star bowler or batsman...every batsman scores runs and every bowler takes wickets (just like the Windies of 80s). So while the highest-wicket taker has 52 scalps, there are many others who were close to him. So the wickets sort of get shared. Here are some screenies of my top bowlers for 2010:

I've decided to keep the identical, all-English squad that I had last season, for my 4th year with Middlesex. However, I have taken the decision to stop playing the game completely, so I might actually do something with my life this summer! Wouldn't count on it though...:D

Decided to go someone different for a change, randomly landed on Worcestershire. Boy, are they a mess.

Moore has been a standout, K. Ali is my only decent bowler, but he's injured at the moment so I'm struggling even more-so.

Trying to play the kids as much as possible, but really no-one is performing.

I've permanently dropped Simon Jones, complete dud, not worth a place on the list. Also going to get rid of the old wood (Hick 42, Solanki 32, Smith 36.)

today i started an international game as england on icc 2008. Only done two tests winning the first by 9 wickets and the second by 10 wickets. Stuart broad has been good with the ball and has hit one of the four centuries i have had os far. Cook is in good form also and finnaly sidebottom and anderson have both taken a lot of wickets. Oh and monty as well. I will keep you guys posted.

On my 4th Season with Somerset, and have just taken the England job.

1st Season. Won C&G, Pro 40 and 20-20
2nd Season. Won CC & Pro 40
3rd Season. Lost many good players to retirement, didn't sign adequate replacements, only youth (which turned out to be crap).
Not sure of final positions but got relegated from CC and Pro 40.
4th Season. Signed Jimmy Anderson & Jermaine Lawson, a few decent youths (but nothing spectacular). Doing well so far, undefeated after around 6-10 games in total.

Took the England job, England are in decline, sitting 5th in the test rankings and 8th in the odi rankings. I'm trying to bring them back to some sort of glory, finding it hard so far though. Playing a 3 test match series against india and 1-0 down, soon to be 2-0 unless i get some quick wickets.
