How are you doing in ICC? (any version)

Finished my 2026 season as Surrey

Couldnt retain the 20 Over Cup as I lost in the Finals.

Lost the Finals of the Challenge Trophy as well.

Got promoted to Division 1 in Pro-League. Should have been in Division 2 for just one season. But because of the bug stayed there for another 2 seasons.

Couldnt retain the County Championship either.

Started a new save as Middlesex. On my last one, which I was really enjoying playing, I didn't realize that if you selected to coach your country you don't keep doing county. I was forming a great squad in the last save. Oh well, my squad is pretty good at the moment on the new one, looking to buy a good middle order batsmen and pace bowler for next season.

From my experiences you manage both. In fact thats how it works if you are given the opportunity to coach England or whoever you still coach your county incase you don't want to be England coach anymore.

Currently in the 2013 season with Yorkshire and have an amazing squad even when considering player ages. My first 11 are usually:

Jacques Rudolph
Marcus Trecothick
James Benning
Adam Lyth-Career average of 39.60 from 76 FC games
Adil Rashid
Ben Harmison
Uzair Mahomed-had good form in 2ndXI so has been put into FC team. Currently averaging 44 from 4 games this year with a highest score of 44*
David Nash
Tim Bresnan
Mark Davies
James Anderson

Some great back up players including Graham Napier, Matthew Hoggard and Michael Munday. All peforming brilliantly for my 2ndXI but can't find a place in my first.

Rashid destroys the opposition so there's no need for Munday. Rashid has been the leading wicket taker in the league 3 years in a row. In our most recent game ge took 15 wickets for 82 runs in an innings and 157 runs victory over Glamorgan. So no I am not mad:p

Only don't use him as when Rashid is away for England Munday doesn't always make the most of his opportunities. maybe next season or if Rashid's form drops. The best part about my team is that no cheating has been done.

I have started a new save with Essex. The first season wasn't all that promising - I got promoted in the CC, just failed to make the play off in the 40 over competition, finished fourth in the Twenty20 group stage and had a disaster in the Challenge Trophy.

The Essex team at the start is interesting. Kaneria is obviously a match-winner and I found Masters to be a very good bowler too, but there is not much after that. Most of the all-rounders in the squad make for very poor bowlers, Ten Doeschate and Napier can be very good occasionally but are usually substandard whilst Middlebrook is quite accurate but his average was around the 45 mark last season. Wright, Palladino and Tudor were decent seamers in the CC but certainly won't be good enough for the top tier. Meanwhile, the batting is very good when everyone is on form even with Cook away with England for the majority of the time. Chopra, Pettini and Gallian all are decent openers and the middle order is very strong with Ten Doeschate, Bopara and Flower plus the likes of Napier and Foster further down the order. Tudor can also be useful with occasional quick runs.

At the end of the season, I had a bit of a clear out. In came the experienced Loye and Joyce to further bolster the batting order (Gallian and Westley were released, Flower retired and Bopara is now England contracted) along with youngster Jacob. On the bowling side things, S Mahmood came in along with Kartik (in place of Kaneria so I could afford to bring Mahmood in) and young spinner Highton.

My 2027 season as Surrey is in Progress :

1. Again qualified for the Finals of the Challenge Trophy. Hope this time I dont choke in the Final :p ....that too after an ALL WIN in the league.....

Just had a young left-armer get figures of 5.3-2-7-5 on debut. Along with my leg spinner, who picked up 3-13, it meant Gloucestershire slipped from 76-2 to 93 a/o :banana2.

Not bad for 5th change

Decided this evening to start a new game, with Lancashire of course. On icc06.

still my fave version of the game due to how quick and easy the interface is. will prob go back to icc 08 just before the new version comes out, but until then ill happily play 06

Probably one of my est seasons ever on a ICC game. Did well in every format.

CC- 1st in Div2
Challenge- lost the final
20/20-lost the final
Pro40- 2nd in Div2

Overseas player was a genius pick, Sri Lankan spinner who dominated all forms of the game. check out his record!

Even managed to clean sweep the season records, first time I've ever done that.

Since I dont have access to edit the fixtures,:( the only way that I can reduce it to 10 days of continuous cricket - is by Not Qualifying for the Semis and Finals of 20-20....:p
