How are you going in International Cricket 2010?

Has anyone noticed that Syl is an umpire? They had to give you someplace in the credits. When did you get the ICC License Syl?

Finished my first test, aus[me]vs sa. 149 to me, 307 to them. Then 151 for me. The ai won by a inns and 9 runs. I tweaked there stats a lot, there bowling was almost unplayable at times. This was on normal, hard well not yet. The ai caught 10 out of 11 of the catches this time. If you up the stats for all the teams then i think the ai play a lot better. The worse thing is you can not tweak the aus and eng teams so if you play against one of them then its not as hard and the ai drop lots of catches. All i did was put the top 7 batsmen down to the wk batting at 80 or higher. I did this for sa only, if this was wi or nz then i will not put the stats up so high.:D

How do you only get 149 on normal? I was having problems with Hard so I went to normal, scored 200 runs in a session and went back to hard.

Maybe i had a bad game or i put there stats up to high. I have dale steyn on 95 bowling, i think he is the best fast bowlier in the world at the moment. Also ntini is 89 and kallis 77, morkel 86, harris 83. Then there batting, smith 89, alma 88, gibbs 87, kallis 89, dummy 82, prince 86, boucher 80. If these are wrong i dont care but if you do the same for good players then maybe people will find the game harder. I will do the indian team next and will have there batting as high but tendulker will be 96 but there bowling will be a little bit under sa.:D

hey can anyone help me. ive played ashes 2009 on easy/medium got all achievements, got 22/25 on IC2010 so put it on hard, bowled sri lanka out for 186 in 44 overs ( bar sankaggara  ) batting is pretty much the same as medium until the yorkers if i do hit them its an edge but mostly get clean bowled. ive tried front and back foot shots. even charging down wicket. but i cannot hit them!!! :help

Update:

Windies 5/215 (Chanderpaul 53*) of 52 overs

Got bored of batting in test matches so I saved this and started a one dayer, and have just somewhat rekindled my initial love for this game:

Eng v Aus (me) at The Oval, Hard, overcast, cool conditions

Eng: 9/282 50 overs (Strauss 138*, Bresnan 42, Denley 40, Collingwood 32, Bollinger 3/43, Hauritiz 2/46, Tait 1/48)

Aus yet to bat

Begun the chase, I was cruising at 3/156 thinking that the game is too easy for batting, when I spectacularly collapsed to be all out for 202. Clarke top scored with 68.

Series level 1-1

Begun game 3 (haven't decided if I'm going to play 3 or 5 games) after I won the opening game by 5 runs in Cardiff.

Eng (AI) v Aus at Lords, beautiful clear, warm sunny day (D/N) Day 2 pitch.

Eng 284 off 49 overs (Collingwood 92, Strauss 48, Broad 38, Smith 3/66, Hopes 2/32)

Broad went nuts with a final wicket stand to get them to a competitive total.

Aus 5.0 overs 1/10 - slow start, Watson, easily the best player in the game, went in the first over leaving a delivery which swung in sharply.

I'm still playing my own 'rule' of not allowing the keeper to catch any knicks. The spinners still get realistic figures.

I use custom fields all the time, except not 'allowing' a short cover and short mid wicket. Setting fields and bowling to plans is what makes the game.

Wondering if I should self impose another 'rule' to not use the slog button except for overs 40-50 - this is because the AI continually sets attacking fields and its easy to go over the top. See how I go this innings.

ODI's are easily the best and most enjoyable format in the game. So much going on. Tests get quite boring and monotomous I think. And it sucks having to increase the opposition batting stats to get decent AI scores.

20-20's are very good. Realistic scores and competitive matches every time. Started an IPL last night playing as the Aces (Royal Challengers). Played on a 4th day pitch at Dhaka and got rolled for 105. AI chased it down losing 6 wickets in reply.

If Trickstar could patch the freakish wicketkeeper catches off spinners, fix the AI fields, and improve AI batting performances for tests then it would be a great game, I think.

@superstufft

There has been so much feedback given to Codies/Transmission about the fieldplacings in the last game. I even have a number of PM conversations with Rob of Transmission discussing the whole area and there wish to get it fixed. For the life of me I dont understand why they still haven't done anything about it. Granted Rob might not still be involved, I don't know, but Heath certainly is.

To be fair I think the AI filding has improved and they seem to make more of an effort but there are still way too many gaps and they take too long plugging a gap.

I think they need a re-think of the whole fielding system. If you are going to have the wonderful 360 batting and powerstroke, which is a brilliant concept, then you need your fielding to be able to match it, to set fields that really are capable of countering that. At the moment the batting is great to play but too imbalanced towards the batting team.

I just avoid the slog button. It is pointless.

On a similar vain is it me or when I try to crete a custom test series it won't allow me to set non field-restrictions?

So Pakistan qualify for the Super 8s in dominating style.

Pakistan (me) 270 all out in 45 overs, 3 batsmen get 50s

Ireland 80 allout in 20 overs. Gul 5/35

The Super 8s are all Test nations, so I might be in for some challenging matches yet.

Oh and Aamer so far has 10 wickets for 90 odd runs in the tournament!

Thats right, i put there throwing arm down and there running speed for bat and field. I did this on ashes on hard and the game went about 20% harder, but ic2010 is 30%+ harder. On harder god i dont wait to think about that at the moment. Second test vs sa. I made 179 all out. made 90 with ponting and the ai droped only one catch again. Now they are 1 for 22 of 5 overs, i drop one catch already.:D

I seriously don't understand why the AI has these pathetic field set-ups, combined with horrible bowling plans for each setting. Its one thing that could so easily be changed!!! Simple field placements combined with simple bowling tactics could of been so easily implemented. IDIOTS

What I also hate is the catching animations. They are freaking horrible. How hard is it to do a close up of a fielder taking a realistic looking catch WITH TWO HANDS!!! Instead of these pathetic one handed feeble lunges. Not good enough hey.

well all out for 247 which seens as its against Bangladesh is pretty poor lol, especially as it's worse than my first total. Ah well. Morgan is fast becoming my best batsman and i love batting with him haha. Bangladesh need 370 to win the match and take a 1-0 lead in the series, but based on their 1st innings, i'd be very suprised;)

I joined the PSN+ last weekend and tried the game online. I know PSN+ has nothing to do with the broken online gameplay, but... i would say, wishful thinking.
:doh Could not even start a game online.

Anyway, did anyone else bite the bullet on PSN+
